/system/app/

it's the files that start with My* like MyPhotoAblum MyCalendar

and local.prop can be found in /system/cust/hw/ or any of the other folders.

I would like to know why you say beta 5 is very slow? The differences between beta5 and beta 3 are the addition of the Huawei widgets, ADW launcher and a headset blocker widget added.

Actually it IS noticeably slower... Opening any app (like browser, sometimes even incoming call answering) kicks me out of GTalk, returning to home takes ages...

(I have to admit I've switched back to Paul's WIP ROM - actually a pretty simplified one baked with a2sd+ :D) and have better feelings for my Pulse now :D I just gave it a shot after many weeks with FLB... Will try the next release of FLB-MOD though definitely :))

Beta3 was far the best one out there so far

Hm, ok. that's something for me to look into. It could be the extra widgets I added.

Small update released and announced on page 1. This is an update to beta5.1 and doesn't need a wipe, although try and do a Nandroid backup in case of any issues.

Update mainly to fix A2SD errors, add the local.prop tweaks again and boot.img fixed. If you have dalvik-cache on SD then I advise you to use this update.

Hey Fibblesan,

Would just like to point out that this tread is now the most viewed tread on the pulse forum, that's pretty cool! :D

and more views than the MoDaCo Nexus ROM

Pulse is more popular :D

A big thank you Flibblesan for all the work you've done.

This new ROM is great and works perfectly on the U8230.

Best rom at time. For me v5 is the best with launcherpro. ADW work good, but launcher looks better for me, but this is relative.

Hi Flibblesan!

Im trying to edit the color of the time and date. When i edit the build.prop and try to install the rom it aborts and says verification failed.

i'm probably doing something wrong. i tried using notepad and Build.prop Editor.

using windows 7 64bit

Peace

You need to resign the update zip once you made changes. I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473580

Flibblesan I managed to install at last your rom, really nice work and work really good on 8220-6, only thing not working is 3g but was expected as you all adviced

I have a question, how 3g is managed? by a driver? a conf file? maybe I can edit it? if I get this your rom will be available in another country (argentina)

thanks for your effort and time

3G is controlled by the Radio Layer Interface. I know 100% this is in the boot.img but I don't know if it's part of the kernel or not. To get 3G working for you we'll need to get a boot.img for your phone that works with 2.1

Thanks for the quick reply!

Im trying it now

Just to update if you use WinRAR then you'll need to change the reg file slightly.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.apk]
@=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.apk\shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.apk\shell\ResignApk]
@="&Resign APK"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.apk\shell\ResignApk\command]
@="java testsign \"%1\""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WinRAR.zip]
@="WinRAR.zip"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WinRAR.zip\shell]

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WinRAR.zip\shell\ResignZip]
@=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WinRAR.zip\shell\ResignZip\command]
@="java testsign \"%1\""[/code]

That will keep WinRAR the default zip handler, but adds "ResignZip" as a second right-click option.

I got boot.img from 2.1 trimmed vanilla (with this rom over my 1.5 3G used to work) and flash it with fastboot "fastboot-windows.exe flash boot boot.img" and didn´t work

Ok. I'll ask BoBo when he's next online. He knows more about this than I do

I flashed beta 5.1 onto my Pulse and replaced ADW with Launcher Pro - but it keeps freezing and running slowly (also getting a few FCs).

I got my other half a new Pulse yesterday, put the Hungarian update on, andded Recovery then flashed FLB 5.1 followed by Launcher Pro and its loads quicker. Even accounting for the fact that I have a few more apps on mine (and I do mean a few, not loads) I cant understand why there is such a difference in speed/responsiveness ?

On my Pulse I started from the MoDaCo 1.7 custom ROM, applied Hungarian 2.1 update and additionalal Hungarian Update, then I tried the Oscillation ROM then finally moved to FLB 5.1 with Launcher Pro. I did wipes between each installation.

Is it worth me rolling back to 1.5 and doing the whole process again ?

My suggestion is that you'd apply the Hungarian (~official) 2.1 update then go for beta5.1. Really shouldn't go all the way back to 1.5 since upgrading ~officially would erase everything and restructure the whole system anyways.
