After applying 5.1 and 5.1 last update, Market FC's time by time. Also the donwloand stalles: Starting download ...

I've tried everything in the book ( at leasty I think):

a2sd fixmarket

Erin market

Market Updater

Deleting /data/data/com.vending ...

Deleteing dalvik-cache

deleting vending.apk and reinstalling it from 2 different 2.1 roms (including flb 5.1).

No luck so far...

Any idea?

Thanks.

SOLVED:

wiped data/dalvick and ext2.

Update 5.1 and 5.1upd1.

Copied back the nandroid ext2 tar in /system/sd/app

Market now working.

Thanks Fibblesan for this great rom.

I flashed beta 5.1 onto my Pulse and replaced ADW with Launcher Pro - but it keeps freezing and running slowly (also getting a few FCs).

I got my other half a new Pulse yesterday, put the Hungarian update on, andded Recovery then flashed FLB 5.1 followed by Launcher Pro and its loads quicker. Even accounting for the fact that I have a few more apps on mine (and I do mean a few, not loads) I cant understand why there is such a difference in speed/responsiveness ?

On my Pulse I started from the MoDaCo 1.7 custom ROM, applied Hungarian 2.1 update and additionalal Hungarian Update, then I tried the Oscillation ROM then finally moved to FLB 5.1 with Launcher Pro. I did wipes between each installation.

Is it worth me rolling back to 1.5 and doing the whole process again ?

From your experience, it seems my theory that the Pulse gets ever so slowly progressively worse over time in terms of performance (but still can't figure out why those users who flash new ROMs every other day don't have more problems)!

In my experience, I've had a PERFECTLY working ROM, which I have then backed up via Nandroid, only then to go back to it and then suffer from Reboots, FCs, and lag where before it did not. I've even wiped, rolled back and then re-flashed the ROM with the exact settings and I still see a marked difference in performance to previous running of exactly the same ROM and config.

More recently, I have been experiencing random reboots and (the dreaded) acore FC on boot-up [currently happy with FLB-ROM v1.0 Beta 5.1] and even then it's NEVER CONSISTENT - sometimes I get the FCs, other times nothing; sometimes it boots up in 30secs, other times it takes up to a minute!!! It just seems like the more we put the Pulse through it's paces the less consistent and less performance we get.

...I started noticing this after about 4/5 months of use - prior to that the phone was consistent and never had any lag, random reboots or FCs. Since then it's been a downward spiral in performance, and getting progressively worse [now I can't even use the data applications for more than 5 minutes before it reboots, and sometimes the phone refuses to boot!]

...in my opinion, I think there is definitely a bad batch of Pulses sourced via T-Mobile UK which experiences this problem [random reboots, inconsistent performance, lags, 3G radio problem etc.]. You can look at the topic here: Reboots on Stock ROMs

Ok. I'll ask BoBo when he's next online. He knows more about this than I do

that would be great, there is a growing pulse community in argentina and would be nice to have your 2.1 completely running here.

except 3G the rest is working really good, up and running for 12hs without any reboot or FC till now on 8220-6.

Download again please. I forgot to remove the updater app from the zip (that was for Cyanogen roms)

Just to let your guys know my experiences with beta 5:

Perfect, the rom is really fast and my phone has been unplugged for almost 3 days with no reboots, no FCs, a fair bit of use yet the battery still has 35% health.

I also successfully flashed black espresso and adw update.

If my Pulse stays like this I am 100% happy, sweet 2.1 android for only £7.50 a month!!

Now it's updated correctly. Thanks for the quick fix.

Yep, and I own an U8220-6. 3G is working allright for me, so you rom isn't that guys problem's cause.

Why can't I seem to get A2SD working? My phone memory just keeps going down. This happened before and after I moved apps+dalvic-cache to my memory card. Is it maybe because i'm just using the bog standard memory card I got with the phone?

I followed the advice on the previous page and reinstalled the Hungarian 2.1 Update. I then installed FLB 5.1.

My problem is that now the boot sequence is stuck on the flashing "Pulse" logo. I have wiped and reflashed the FLB 5.1 zip but with the same results (Ive left it running on the "Pulse" screen for at least 20 minutes so have given it plenty of time to perform the initial boot).

What can I do to resolve this please ?

Thanks.

Your 5.1 rom. I installed that, then installed the update as well. I haven't been able to get A2SD working with any rom on 2.1. Even if I format my memory card put completely new partitions on it my phone memory still goes down.

That's because you're problably running A2SD, not A2SD+, wich means your cache is still on phone, not on SD.

To move cache to sd you need to do:

"adb a2sd cache" (?) sorry I'm not sure this is the code, someone will confirm this.

But attention, if your sd isn't class 6, like mine, this will result in a huge performance lost.

EDIT: A good tip for everyone with lower classes sd's: You can enable A2SD+, install all your apps, and I mean, you can install a SH*T LOAD of apps, then go back to A2SD, moving cache back to the phone. This way you've installed a lot more apps than you would have with cache on phone, and still will run them after moving cache back!

In the recovery menu in "other" there is an option to moved apps+dalvic-cache to sd. I did that. I assumed that would mean the cache was on the memory card after that

Nop, that's not it. In order to have a fully functional a2sd+ you have to config the script to move the cache to the sd. That's done with the code I've posted, or similar if I'm not right.

Wouldn't it be something like

"adb shell

a2sd config"

And follow stuff on the screen?

Maybe that can work too. But I'm pretty sure the time I did it was just a simple command line as: adb a2sd cache

In fact, I'm almost sure that's right. I'm just not going to confirm myself because it makes my phone veryy laggy, and takes some time to get good speed back after moving cache back.

Bad. That breaks A2SD on my ROM due to the new version being used.

You can just use the A2SD in my rom and move dalvik to SD from a terminal or adb shell.

I would like to know why you say beta 5 is very slow? The differences between beta5 and beta 3 are the addition of the Huawei widgets, ADW launcher and a headset blocker widget added.

My main problem was that i wanted to navigate with google maps and it took a few minutes to start after many freezes, and after shutting a programm down it takes very long time to rebuild the desktop... I love the beta 3 ^^ At this moment....
