Hi,

I noticed slowness after putting the Fancy Widget on desktop...it reaches to be unasable at all and I have to restart the phone.

Try to remove the Beautiful or Fancy Widget for some hours.

Petz

I sometimes have a slow phone once booted due to widgets like these checking for updates. Once updated the phone is usually back to normal.

After 5.1update1 v1.0 beta installation.

The market is not functioning well.

Can not download some applications.

Example: Adobe Reader

This may be why?

Some solution?

I'm a bit late on updates but today I have installed update1 and now see gapps fc on every reboot. Fixable? anyone else have it?

Just noticed another problem: I lost root permissions, neither application required root permissions work on my phone now. This happened before, usually after using nandroid. How to restore permissions without reflashing device? nandroid restore doesnt help.

Never mind the second problem of the previous message, I solved it. By the way this is known problem with nandroid restore function, when you restore there is a chance that permissions on /system/xbin/su messed up and you will need to update those permissions with the following commands:

adb remount

adb shell chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su

You can see this solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=634986

Excellent. I wonder if the recovery image can be fixed somehow. Sometime for me to look at

AHA! I had this a while ago, but gave up & reflashed. Another problem fixed!

May I suggest that you please put this fix in the tips & tricks thread here

Good to keep this kind of thing all in one place :D

I think its really good that you are trying to keep all these tips and tricks together and theres loads of stuff that can be missed by new users. May I suggest to you that it would be better to add all these tips to the Pulse WIKI rather than just keep them in a thread that is already long and is only going to get longer. The thread is just too long for someone to trawl through, looking for the answer to his problem, don't you think?

According to xda forum I mentioned before, the RA 1.6.2 has fixed it, but there is no RA 1.6.2 for Pulse maybe someone has a connection with the Amon_Ra author to make one for pulse including 2.1 roms support?

Im running FLB 5.1 and have now started to run out of space for apps.

I have a 2 gig memory card in my pulse, so I wondered if I can now enable apps to be installed to my SD card or did I need to do this when I first installed the ROM ?

If its possible now, I understand that I can partition the card from the recovery console, but what happens to the files / folders which are currently on my card ? Will they be wiped or will they just be moved to the correct partition automatically ?

Also - what are the exact values which I need to select for the partitions ? I remember looking at the partition tool a few months ago and wondering what was the best size to set the partitions to ?

Any help much appreciated !

Thanks.

They will be whiped. You can back them up to your PC though and put them back afterwards. Partition using the recovery console. It'll ask 3 different things:

Swap size - Put this to 0MB

Ext-size - This is where your apps will be stored. Adjust depending on the amount and size of your apps. I personally use a 2GB SD as well, and have EXT set to 128MB

FAT (rest of the available space) - Whatever is left (this can be accessed by Windows and you can put your files back on this partition)

Hope that makes sense

Hey Flibble, for some reason my phone woke up pretty fast this morning. I tried Raging Thunder 2 for half an hour and it worked very good, no lag! haha

I have to say that it felt really good to see my mobile running such a nice graphs game like that.

Thanks. I followed those instructions but now a few of my apps arent working...the icons have changed to the default android icon; I also cant access my SD card via my pulse - it says it has been removed even though it hasnt ! When I put it into my laptop I can see the card and 2 partitions - but they are both set as Primary partitions - is this correct ?

Hey Flibblesan,

I quite like your ROM, although I did go back to 1.5 for reliability (work etc).

Just wondering, if I wanted to repackage your ROM but with the standard Android launcher, how do I do this? and do you know of any reason I shouldn't (is it worse for RAM usage compared to ADW or LauncherPro).

I was going to take the stock Launcher.apk (from the Oscillation ROM) and just copy it over to your ROM and then resign/repackage it.

Any thoughts? ideas? tips?

Cheers!

Well, for me this rom was definitely more reliable then 1.5 but this is subjective.

Why wouldnt you install one of the stock roms instead for replacing launchers? Flash Oscillation rom since FLB is based on that.

What's the situation with SMS reception with the latest v5 (or for that matter any other 2.1 ROMs)?

I'm currently on the Hungarian 2.1 and missed a couple of messages yesterday. I had planned to start to try some of the custom ROMs like FLB this week but VirginMedia have been unable to provide any stable internet service this week (been down about 95% of the time ... managed to get 30 mins connection last night which gave time to download a backlog of 300+ emails!) so have postponed this as I think I'll need to consult the instructions here while I do it!

Ok, once VirginMedia sort out they network I'll give it a go ... though, thinking about it, I'm on a business trip to France most of next week so probably best not to try something new just before I go in case I get hit by the "ash cloud" for third time! So by the time I get round to it I assume the Froyo release that "Asif - Tmobile support" promised for July 7 will be out!

Or accidentally travel to Amsterdam and get hit by the "hash cloud" for the third time. *Mysterious mode* I know all your secrets... *Normal mode* Enjoy your trip!

it is unlocked, what do you mean? whenever you first-start root application e.g. titanium backup it asks you to give root permissions, which means the phone is rooted (unlocked) unless you mean network lock, then it all depends on your sim card, it is not the ROM feature. Never heard of rom doing sim unlock.

I mean netwotk unlock. There are some solution in web to unlock my pulse, but if I'll change my ROM again there will be any problem??

I had problems with my old phone,I had a LG Arena unlocked, but when i Installed a custom ROM, I do not know why it locks the phone back to the default operator. I paid again to unlock it...
