Guest demetr1os Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 I prefer the second solution.. The problem is that i do not know how to do it, do you know any good tutorial for that?? thanks again,.
Guest gusthy Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Well, I think until all widgets / apps are coded to take advantage of Froyo and JIT there won't be any speed improvements I don't think it depends on coding - the problem is that JIT requires even more memory. When I increase the dalvik memory, problems are less often, but they occur as well.
Guest mjgreen81 Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 hi all, I am new to the pulse and new to the forums. look forward to speaking with you all in the future. As soon as I got my pulse I updated it to 2.1 and used this ROM (after hearing nothing but good things). Only problem i have is that my camera does not seem to work. Well, it does work but when i try to click the 'shutter' button, nothing happens. Is this a known bug (I tried searching but didnt get much luck)? Or can anyone help me with it? Thanks, nice to meet you all
Guest pbax Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) Can someone tell me how to do a full data wipe please? Edited July 4, 2010 by pbax

Yeah, just managed to find the people saying that their camera was not working at all, but with me it is just the shutter button. I wish i had tried the camera with the stock 1.5 version before i updated but i didnt. Its strange cos my barcode scanner app works fine... .....inless i am being dumb and dont actually know how to use the camer properly....I presume it is the green shutter icon i should press to take photos?
Guest pbax Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Read this first http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...e-owners-guide/ sorry but I cant find anywhere in that thread that tells you how to wipe your phone

It is a ball button on the right side of the bg window where you are see what is in front of you :)

Guest Simon O Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 The camera button on the side doesn't work for taking photos, at least for me.
Guest mjgreen81 Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 The camera button on the side doesn't work for taking photos, at least for me. i tried it with the button on the side and the touch button. neither seems to work, the button on the side seems to launch the camera ok but does nothing to actually take the photo. Could this be linked to the 'auto focus' problem i have read about? (although the auto focus seems to work fine when using barcode reader)
Guest aidanj Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 strange, the camera button AND touch 'ball' both work perfectly when i take photos. running beta 5 with the camera fix installed - there was no camera app in beta 5, so fibblesan uploaded a camera fix zip file, which i promptly installed.

Could this be linked to the 'auto focus' problem i have read about? (although the auto focus seems to work fine when using barcode reader) This happens to me when i flash a new ROM and have pictures left in the camera folder from the previous ROM. I cannot take pictures until the app has read the pictures inside the folder and created thumbnails. I have now about 200 pics so that takes some time. Anyway this might not be what's happening to you cause you said you've just got the Pulse :)
Guest Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Flibblesan, are you going to check if the swedish 2.1 vanilla rom is a better base for FLB-mod? :)

Guest doivey Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Great stuff, I have now managed to get my pulse up to 2.1 standard ! Took me all evening, but so far so good, i have had a few forced closes, but will see if they settle down and I notice where they are coming from. Didn't do anythign with my SD card, that seemed like a task to tackle another day. Thanks all involved :)
Guest flip360 Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 great work feeblesan, i have been using your latest rom on a daily basis since it came out :) sofar rock solid, everything works as it should (i suppose). awaiting the jit enabled version :D cheers
Guest pbax Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) do I just have to chose ''wipe'' on the custom recovery image to wipe the phone? ::EDIT:: I wipe it and flashed it, its a really great ROM! I hope its stable enough for daily use! Edited July 5, 2010 by pbax
Guest Simon O Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 Flibblesan, are you going to check if the swedish 2.1 vanilla rom is a better base for FLB-mod? :) It isn't. There really isn't anything different to that rom than the RMB2 rom apart from the custom apps. It's still a Huawei customized rom. Don't think we will ever see a true vanilla rom for the Pulse.

I mean JIT is more than good but what is the real performance gain compared to let's say 100Mhz more on the processor :) By the way you didn't share you JIT- periance so far? Cheers, using 5.1update1 and loving it!

Cheers, using 5.1update1 and loving it! I disabled JIT as my phone became unstable after a few days. Our devices just don't have enough memory to use JIT. Swap and overclocking need a custom kernel. Some people are trying to get the pulse mini kernel working.
Guest mjgreen81 Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 Just to quickly update you on the camera shutter button problem. ...turned the phone on this morning with the though of downloading a different camera app to see if that helps...thought I would try the stock camera one more time....and it works! No idea what was happening but it now works fine!

No idea what was happening but it now works fine! I had following problem with the camera app on fresh install of FLB - camera app would start but show note something like:"Preparing SD Card" and would stay like that. There was one thing I did that changed the situation and make my camera work nicely - I went to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Camera->Clear data Now, if you dont see Camera app in the list, you need to click menu button chose "Filter->All" Maybe that was the reason your camera didnt work, there is some bug in camera data, so you need to clear it.
