maybe you dont do full wipe before flashing flb?

Yes, you should always wipe before flushing flashing :)

Same for any rom unless it's a small update. Data wipe, dalvik wipe, ext wipe. Then flash.

Just got my pulse back from T-mobile which was renewed not repaired and had the old 1.5 firmware on it so I wasted no time in restoring it back to FLB- MOD :) I was using beta3 now im on beta5 NICE WORK! I also had the long pulse boot animation but I left it and it stoped a little while after button lights.

odd. i cant get the hungarian 2.1 to install. it tells me:

E: no signature(7 files)

E: verification failed

after some thinking i tried installing it via upgrade in the settings menu . i figured since it is an official update it probebly should be installed that way

but no luck there either it tells me upgrade wasnt found.

anyone know what to do now?

stupid me .. tried it the wrong way.

have hun 2.1 running. now installing FLB

...

got FLB installed now.

seems to work.

just wondering where the setting to select which contact group to synch went? or did i just overlook it.

it very annoying to have like 400 contacts...

My experience with the latest FLB version and ADW has been near perfect. I have full bluetooth functionality, camera button working to launch app and take shots, excellent WiFi speeds etc.

The only bugs I can report are probably the ones that can't be fixed easily:

1. Phone freezes and requires battery pull when using 3G and CPU heavy apps.

2. Both google navigation and copilot freeze when using GPS after about half an hour.

Been playing around with the phone settings etc ADW 0.8.8 shows as 0.8.7 which is normal I think and im also experiencing freezing.

Thats normal for ADW. What do you have freezing on the phone?

Formatting SYSTEM:...

Copying files...

E: Can't symlink /system/xbin/[

E:Failure at line 13: symlink busybox SYSTEM:xbin/[

Installation aborted.

Having the install stopping here, have read in this topic Jam n on page 2 had same problem changed his sd card seems to have fixed this.

I changed my card to a SanDisk 2gb but same problem?

I installed the Official 2.1 update that loaded but my screen would not work had to use ball to navigate. So I then tried to update to this rom.

Any ideas

The error is caused by your system partition being too small. Usually because the hungarian update hasn't been flashed to your phone. Please install this, then install recovery, then flash flb.

well it's not crashed on me :)

but I'm just waiting to find out if the wifi works on other devices. If it does and it's stable for everyone else, I'll release it.

ohhh, custom scripts, yay, :D

Yeah. It's an idea I stoleborrowed from Paul's MCR roms on other devices. :)

It's just Android Scripting Environment (free) which has been compiled from source and renamed. Allows you to run scripts with a single press. We are going to use it for various tweaks. Currently it has a market speedup tweak that Paul has added to new MCR roms. It's unlikely we will see a new MCR for the Pulse so this is probably the closest we'll have.

Got to love open source software.

Hopefully next week if things go well. I have a few more things I need to do to the rom first.

And yeah. BigBear has been a great help. He's working on some nice things.

Yes, you should always wipe before flushing flashing :P

Same for any rom unless it's a small update. Data wipe, dalvik wipe, ext wipe. Then flash.

Just did this again from scratch and it's now working - but something is odd about this -

The first two times - I thought I had cleared everything important (and even gone via dec 1.5 ->hungarian 2.1 twice), but it turns out I didn't clear the EXT. I think I was trying to avoid that for some reason (I did the factory wipe and all the other individual wipes on the recovery menu)

Without clearing the EXT, it went into a permanent boot animation loop - even when I pulled the SD card - this seems odd.

I assumed that even if not wiping the EXT partition was causing a problem that pulling the card would allow it to boot but it seems not.

So either

1) EXT wipe does something in addition to clearing the SD ext partition

2) If the setup is done with an ext partition present and then the card is pulled it causes a boot loop (maybe only for first boot?)

3) My phone is behaving oddly or something was going repeatedly corrupt with the install. Maybe it was just a weird corruption issue that happened to resolve itself the 3rd time...

I'm not sure which, but I now seem to have a beta5.1 running, and will now try the update1.

Anyway - the moral appears to be clear the EXT, don't try to get around it by pulling your sd card :)

Edit: update1 now installed fine, looking forward to trying it out :D

Flibble - have you managed to fix it so you there isn't any screen freezes with the full ROM? They really are quite annoying :)
