Guest Simon O Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 how much free internal memory do you guys have after checking a2sd is working correctly? i have 27.6 mb, and i think someone on here said they have 70 mb free? i moved dalvik cache to sd + apps (or so it said), through the 'other' menu in recovery mode. am i supposed to do something else on the terminal emulator? The option inside recovery should not be used as it's for an older version of A2SD. I'm unable to change this or remove it. Open android terminal then do: su a2sd cachesd[/code]

Sorry for a daft question mate, but I'm running the Tre update at the moment and the two niggles are the dropping of 3G which can be fixed by turning plane mode on and off, and loads of apps not showing in the market. I'd love to give your rom a go but I've only got the cack 2 gig sd card that came with the pulse. Should I wait until I get a class 6 card before even trying, or would it be usable for testing in the meantime? And FFS get to bed!

Dalvik-cache shouldn't be moved to the SD with that as it's too slow. I think you can use it for apps but not 100% sure if it will be quick enough. Bed? Only if Karen Gillan is there waiting for me. OT: Mmmm ... redheads ... but I'm afraid Dr. Who grabbed her from you :) But seriously - I, of course, jumped on 1.0 train immediatelly and except AWD unloading sometimes - no other serious issues for now. I'm sure they will start after a while as they always do with every ROM so far - but FLB-ROM is still the best 2.1 I've used! Only one weird thing I'm currently experiencing (that I didn't have on latest beta) is that something is activating GPS a lot. Latitude is off, and no other navigation currently running - there is only FancyWidget but I deactivated location detection - but still, GPS is activating/deactivating at least once every 5-6 minutes...so I was forced to turn it off in Settings for now...

Well, could please anyone explain it in one sentence what this dalvik-vm heap size is and tell me if I should change the size of it or not? (I'm on the first, original version of v1.0 and like it too much to even upgrade it to the slightly updated version :) )

What I found is that if I install it over Hungary update then things stop working (eg. WIFI). Once I've installed the TRE firmware (using time machine) and THEN installed your rooted TRE rom, everything works perfect. In fact it is the best combination so far for me! I'm thinking aloud here....but maybe there is something in this that could help ppl who are experiencing connection probs etc... Triq

How can I remove the unnecessary languages? You can just uninstall them using "Manage Application". If you want, you can also remove apks from system/app. I use Estrong Explorer. Be careful though.

Not sure if this is the right place for this and it's not a major issue for me, but there is still some pink in there! The button to create a new message turns pink when you press it and the border on the power control is still pink!

The reason for this question is that I'm on 1.5 (1.7 MCR) now with Zeam and I like the no-nonsense of it (not much options, but nice and light) and are willing to go to this mod (SMS was a showstopper for me, first like the phone to work as a phone and then see what else I can get ontop of it). edit: Also a question, If I want to use this mod, do I go: 1.5 -> Hungary 2.1 -> FLB or 1.5 -> Tre 2.1 -> FLB Edited July 10, 2010 by Hermg

In the UK, the connections are fast and I'm happy just to have Canvas (which hasn't crashed once!!) I've tried: 1.5 ->Hungary 2.1 -> FLB Tre (rooted + a2SD).. ...but Canvas screws up and WIFI refuses to work. Hope that helps
Guest IceXcube84 Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 (edited) I am still running v1.0 Beta 5 Upgrade 1 on my U8220 but i tested it to move the dalvik cache to my Kingston 8 gb Class 4 and its working perfect not slow at all i can see the phone is faster now. I will stay with that version a little bit more. I cant be ask to do everything again after my little mistake with the build.prop file so my phone got messed up totaly so nothing was working like it shoud. Edited July 10, 2010 by IceXcube84

It's missing a couple of non-urgent fixes. Fingerprint changed back, boot animation fixed so the boot isn't really slow.
