Guest Basher52 Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 At each start of Autokiller there comes the popup and the text is about that you must be root and so on. It's just an annoying popup and everything works or doesn't it have correct root access? I think we lost root... just testet with Titanium -> no root. flibblesan, i got a question: i changed a few thinks in your rom, but apps2sd and root are not part of my party. while building my rom, i copied additional apks to \data\a2sd. All those apks arent installed after flashing the rom... Need help, Greets Basher

Guest brack Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) At each start of Autokiller there comes the popup and the text is about that you must be root and so on. It's just an annoying popup and everything works or doesn't it have correct root access? It should work because we are using an Custom rooted ROM? Is there any way to check whether AutoKiller works properly or not? I dont think you lost root or something, this is splash window programatically built into autokiller, just ignore it. The "lost root" warning will cause different warning which does not belone to autokiller app. And there a way to disable it find "Display startup dialog" in autokiller settings and uncheck it. Guest brack Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) I want to push=promote one other app, which was favorite of Paul, Titanium backup. I heard of negative reports on this app and did report it myself, but there is a thing that needs to be upgrade in all custom roms except Paul's is busybox, the Titanium backup in conjunction with busybux 1.8.1 (default in FLB) causes various problems, First thing you need to do before using Titanium backup is upgrade busybox, and you can do it from withing Titanium backup. Features of this app are full backup, backup of SMS, Contacts, settings, data, apps, you can also "freeze" apps without uninstalling them, and you can uninstall any system app from there, and you can do schedule any backup operations. I use donation version of this app and it does backup/restore automatically, without questions and very fast. Edited July 14, 2010 by brack
Guest robot1000 Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 There seems to be an issue with the barnacle tethering app, where it just restarts the phone when the 'start' button is pressed. Can this issue be resolved
Guest whackster Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) i copied additional apks to \data\a2sd. All those apks arent installed after flashing the rom... the apks should go to /data/app/ /data/a2sd/ is only used to fix the market app problem (if it occurs) with a2sd. Also make sure you keep the boot.img, if you delete it from the update you won't have root. Edited July 14, 2010 by whackster
Guest Simon O Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Is there an Always Allow option? Nope. The app will always bug you on every load.

Guest Simon O Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 I think we lost root... just testet with Titanium -> no root. That won't have happened. If root was lost then a lot of things would stop working, mainly a2sd. More than likely something has broken some permissions. Use the fix poster above.
Guest robot1000 Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Please file a bug report directly with the author of that application. It worked fine with your previous ROM (Beta 4), so I thought it could be connected with the new release
Guest Basher52 Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 Ahh, thanks a lot  Now its woring again, will have some tests on it tomorrow. How can i edit the init.rc? i wnat to fix the Memorymanagement by fixing the kill page thinks, discussed a few pages ago.

If you dont know rather use autokiller, the app is NOT sitting in memory, it just runs on boot and fixes the init.rc. Besides, if you manually fix it I believe it will be back to default next time you reboot, by the way can anyone confirm it? Edited July 14, 2010 by brack

Guest michlaustn Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 With the latest ROM is it possible to revert the framework back to the stock white framework? If so how can this be achieved? Thanks. Michael.
Guest stealthstealer Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 This is by faaaar the best rom ive had on my pulse, absolutely fabtastic fibble. Best release so far, miiiles faster. And i am a Tmobile customer who DID have the SMS issues on some previous roms, namely the betas and Pauls Beta 2.1. Its very intermittent though, and you dont always know when youve missed texts so i cant be sure. But this knew kernel seems to have fixed this frustrating problem, so ill be reeeeally diasapointed if it has to go :D especially seeing as i had zero problems with 1.0 and saw a serious performance enchancement :D Oh well, great work  And launcherPro $@*ts all over adw ;)
Guest hadley Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 The app has never worked for me. Barnacle works fine for me, on version 1.0 of FLB-Mod. I am using it to post this, in fact.
Guest Krinyo Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 What precise SD Partitioning did you do before upgrading to FLB 1.0 ? Data? EXT2? SWAP? Thanks! Step 4: Return to the Main menu in the Custom recovery Image and select "Partition SD Card" - set "Swap size" to "0" (press volume-down) - set ext2 size to xyz mb (Replace xyz with the size you want to install apps, please note you can't use this space for storing anything else. Press volume-up/down to ajust) 512mb is a decent ammount. However that is more than half your cards space if you only have a 1gb card swap 0, ext2 1 gb, and the rest is data.
Guest Simon O Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 The barnacle thing was bugging me so I've totally rebuild the ROM again and now the app works correctly using both the older kernel and the newer kernel. I also believe that the wifi issue that was affecting some people using the Tre kernel has been resolved also. As Barnacle is useful for some people, I'll build it into the rom. For those that don't use it, it can be removed easily. Expect an update in the next few days.

What about the memory management, will you add that to the new version as well? Also is there a custom script or a solution to the low volume, that's been bugging me since I got this phone. Maybe look into LVH and see what files are being modified (I don't know if LVH works for me, I can't be sure I get any improvements, even if it is louder it's just a small increase). Awesome rom, keep it up. Cheers! *still praying for swap

Did it work on any other FLB properly?

Did it work on any other FLB properly? Most notably when listening to music. I can't really tell if it worked on any 2.1 rom (we're talking about LVH I guess) but as far as I know it did on the 1.5 roms. Tried the headset boost but as I said, not really sure it works. Have you tried it? Oh, almost forgot, is there some method to use the custom scripts, or do I just click on it once and it runs in the background after that? Cheers!

It seems to work, but not totally sure  The custom scripts. you click them, they will ask for superuser if not already granted, then run. press back to finish.
