Did you type SU on it's own before doing the command?

fibblesan, thanks for your reply.

I have just type SU

and then a2sd cachesd

the free space has increased from 32mb to 52mb

The partition for apps was set to 1gb

how come the free space hasn't jumped from 32mb to around 1032mb?

does that mean I have to run the "a2sd cachesd" command regularly if there is no space left in the main memory?

Cheers

Because the 52mb is the free space on your phone memory, not your memory card.

I suppose it really doesn't help when somebody posted to use both a2sd cachesd and a2sd cachepart. By doing this you are first moving the dalvik-cache to the SD, then trying to move it to the cache partition. This absolutely will not work and in most cases will break your Android. Our phones only have 10MB cache partition and this is used by a few things. Dalvik-cache just won't fit.

NEVER, EVER EVER MOVE DALVIK-CACHE TO CACHEPART USING THE COMMAND 'A2SD CACHEPART'!

You have actually put that in your post about your 1.0 release

A2SD is enabled but my free space is still going down

Note: If you apply Darktremor Apps2SD and still notice internal storage is decreasing, this is due to the dalvik-cache not being moved. By default, Darktremor Apps2SD will not move the dalvik-cache on boot.

If you want to move the dalvik-cache to the sd card, type:

a2sd cachesd (move dalvik to sd card)

a2sd cachepart (move dalvik to cache partition)

That's why I did it. Might be an idea to delete that cachepart bit

Because the 52mb is the free space on your phone memory, not your memory card.

I have just installed facebook,

the freespace has decreased from 52mb to 50mb,

it seems the program is still installing on to the phone memory instead of the sd card.

does that mean I have to run the "a2sd cachesd" command regularly if there is no space left in the main memory?

Yup, hence my comment. I copied and pasted from XDA without removing that bit

You still have other caches (i.e. Browser caches) and other data being stored and updated in internal storage, so the number of free space will continue to drop, but at a slower rate (unless you are engage in heavy web surfing, tweeting or facebook socializing.)

Once you have run a2sd cachesd once, it will stay in effect.

Run "a2sd check" without quotes to make sure apps are being stored on SD. If not, run a2sd repair.

Is there a command to let A2SD check whether the SD-card is fast enough for Dalvik cache or not?

No but it's designed so if there is an issue with dalvik-cache being on SD it will initialise a failsafe and move it back to the phone.

i have just run a2sd check,

it says

"[!] Programs run from Int. Storage

To run from SD card, type a2sd install"

then i try "a2sd install", but it seems all the additional apps are gone,

i had to reverse that in order to get the apps back.

Thanks for your hint.

Is there any aspired release date for the next release (maybe 1.1?)?

Why on Earth are you trying to install superboot? Non of the Android 2.1 instructions say to install this and, by doing so, you will have prevented your installed rom from functioning.

You will have to wipe your phone from recovery and install a custom ROM again. Sorry to be harsh but so many people recently are just not following instructions.

That is the reason why I stopped to answer for "HELP NEED" post's.

Seems that some of the guys are too lazy to search the forums and waiting everything to be jawed and served for them.

We need some moderators to, at least, move the help topics into existing topics. The place is getting more messy.

Ellia, not yet.

ok thankks for the help do i need to type su in the brakets and how do i know wat lvl is my sd card and wat does delvic cashe do .... thamkx

NO! you dont have to type the brackets just SU and hit enter, as for SD class mine is the one that came with the phone and with cache on SD still works fine for me, most SD have the class number on it.

EDIT:

Only type this a2sd cachesd not whats in the brackets(move dalvik to sd card)

Do not type this>a2sd cachepart (move dalvik to cache partition)

I can't seem to move the dalvik cache.

When using terminal emulator I get "Permission denied; are you root?" whether I use the su prefix or not.

Since I am running FLB, I HAVE to be Rooted, no?

Whassgoingon?

Flibblesan maybe you can put my post about how to solve this issue: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?act=fi...amp;pid=1328618 in the header? There are too many people didnt read this topic but trying to install your rom, maybe they can read a header at least? kind of FAQ?

Every-time when I try to establish a Cisco VPN connection with the app "VPN Connections" I get a FC. Is this a known bug or should it be possible to use cisco vpns?

You're not the only one with that problem. Quite a few FC reports at http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applica...t-only_wps.html

Edit: Seems that the app needs tun support in the kernel. This isn't available until we can compile our own kernels.

Once I have activated a2sd, whenever I remove the SD card while the phone is on, it freezes.

I have even tried to unmount the SD card, but the phone still hangs when I try to remove the SD card.

It is rather inconvenient as I copy files to my SD from my PC on a regular basis.

It is normal?

Yup, a cable. I guess that if you remove the card you remove the ext partition on it, which the phone thinks it's part of it's internal memory. Just use a cable and it mounts the partitions like it should. Cheers!

Surprise, surprise... I wonder what would happen if I pull hard drive from my pc while it's running  need to try one day... when I dont need that pc anymore.

if you dont know how to connect your a2sd phone with cable to pc, rather switch your phone off before you pull the sd out.

Is there any way to remove unmount sd option from the menu? or maybe hide it when a2sd is running? Maybe I speak stupid things though... i even forgot about this option

Flibblesan Congratulations on successful ROM! According to recent questions, your rom went up to masses, and it is a "POPULAR" indeed (word "popular" like in "popular science")

I do apologise for my inadequate knowledge of Android.

I did try searching for the answer but, due to not really knowing what I was looking for, was unable to formulate query terms in a way that helped me find the answer.

I deeply appreciate the amount of help you get here on the forums. I can imagine that helping newbies can become really tiresome.

All I can say is that there is no other resource that I know of that makes the Pulse as worthwhile to use as these forums, and a lot if not most of that is due to the great willingness of people to help.

flibblesan, I got FLB working on my Pulse on the first try and it is an absolute lifesaver for the Pulse.

I am sorry if some of my questions seem too stupid for the amount of tinkering you guys have done; it is, however, a testament to your achievement that even those with little experience can make it work based on all the great resources here.

I know WinMo, I do not know Linux or Android - and yet I have FLB running on my Pulse. That's all because of this forum and your work.

I've gotten everything working with a2sd as well. I'm a little uncertain because I only have ~30MB of free space at any given time when others mention 50MB+, but the fact that that number isn't dropping noticeably must mean that it's working as it should.

And compared to 1.5... whoa boy, no contest.

THANK YOU!

An alternative to this is to install Dropbox and transfer stuff by drop box. I've found this invaluable

@flibblesan

Iv used many many many Rom's on my G1 and the best one's I can think of off the top of my head is Super D and Cannon202 great rom's, however what you have done here with FLB-MOD is way way way more stable than any Rom iv used on my G1, I must admit I screwd up my first flash of this Rom by activating cache to SD by recovery but iv started from scratch a few days ago im using ADW 1.0.1 system also trying out ADW Theme Stock Blue from the market setcpu 528mhz I have'nt set any profiles and my pulse is flying, a little battery drainage but I think thats normal on 2.1Roms.

Great Work my man we'd all be stuck on 1.5 without you guys

keep up the good work.

Now if only could the Dev's of ADW sort out why notification bar keeps hideing and then coming back :D
