Guest Simon O Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Now if only could the Dev's of ADW sort out why notification bar keeps hideing and then coming back  it's the new gesture settings. You can disable them in one of the options.
Guest bindi Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Since my recent upgrade to 1.0 I am having several minor issues where on beta3 there were only 3-4 FCs on reboot. My issues on 1.0 are: - Can't connect to camera! - Battery gone really made...only lasts a day now. Checked in battery monitor and it suggest phone is not sleeping that often. However all my apps are similar to previous ROM and no settings changed. - Every reboot shows me same SMS and missed Call log which is now 3-4 days old. Not an issue but just weird. I love the new icons and new look in 1.0 ROM and I can live with all other issues but battery. I have already completely wiped and installed this ROM three times as an upgrade from beta3. I don't mind doing this again if it may be an issue. My path so far was Pulse --> Dec Update -->MCR 1.7 --> Hungary 2.1 update (No HU customisation offcourse) --> FLB beta3 --> FLB 1.0

Guest topspinserve Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 What is the general consensus about the use of Autokiller with this rom. Does it help? I had previously (before I reflashed the rom again because of wifi issues) had some problems with gmail not automatically getting push email, and I wondered if it had anything to do with autokiller?
Guest biron_w Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 @flibblesan Now if only could the Dev's of ADW sort out why notification bar keeps hideing and then coming back  If you swipe up on your phone on the home screen then the notification bar will disappear, swipe up again and it will re-appear. I like this feature :D

I like this feature :D Ilike the feature too  but mine works swiping downward when hiden, its just that when scrolling through home screens the notification pops up if I keep scrolling it will hide again, not often but now and again.

Guest Evil Disco Guy Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) Seeing as no one managed to help me previously, I decided to rip the stock 2.1 Music APK from the Tre ROM myself. I've uploaded it to Dropbox, along with the Huawei File Manager APK as well. Astro is terrible, I'd much prefer Estrong, but you get an invalid URL error trying to set an alarm tone if you don't have Astro installed. The Huawei File Manager fixes that. A quick comparison showed a significant gain in CPU and battery usage with Music Mod over stock. The extra eye candy features aren't good enough to warrant it in my opinion. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4857337/FileManager.apk http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4857337/Music.apk Edited July 18, 2010 by Evil Disco Guy
Guest jlgmax Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Hi sorry if this has been answered elsewhere already (I couldnt find it using a search). I currently have APPS2SD working on my FLB MOD 5.1 beta. If I want to update to v1.0 (or 1.1 if I decide to wait a while) will the new ROM "see" the apps on the SD card ? Or will I have to re-install them (even though they are already installed to the SD card) ? Many thanks.

Guest ultraa Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) You still have other caches (i.e. Browser caches) and other data being stored and updated in internal storage, so the number of free space will continue to drop, but at a slower rate (unless you are engage in heavy web surfing, tweeting or facebook socializing.) Once you have run a2sd cachesd once, it will stay in effect. Run "a2sd check" without quotes to make sure apps are being stored on SD. If not, run a2sd repair. I have been installing lots of apps to my phone today, the amount of free memory has dropped from 50mb to 15mb. I have just ran a2sd repair and got the below status, can someone please tell me if my program are install to the a2sd partition, thanks. A2SD Status Report ------------ [!] Mount point found.. no further action required. [*] Ext partition found and already mounted. Apps [!] Programs run from Int. Storage. Private [!] Private Programs run from Int. Storage. Dalvik Cache [!] Dalvik runs from SD card Edited July 18, 2010 by ultraa

Guest Simon O Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Thanks for the heads up! Last thing I need on my phone is stuff that counters it being Faster..Lighter...Better... Ouch. That's a bit below the belt  But seriously there is no difference between Music Mod and the stock player in terms of CPU or battery usage. Why? Because Music Mod IS the stock player. It's built on exactly the same AOSP code with some modifications and tweaks to change the layout and add some more widgets. If you don't use the widgets then it'll use no more memory that the stock player. In fact it will probably use less due to optimizations. Cyanogenmod uses Music Mod and if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for us! I really don't want to say any negative things about any other ROM but if you do the comparisons then you will see that all the effort I have put into this rom has resulted in it performing better than any other 2.1 rom for the Pulse currently available. <big head> :D And as the rom is a simple flashable zip, you can remove the applications you don't want and replace with applications you do want. Just resign the zip after and flash it like any other update. In fact, I encourage you to do so! Make lean versions of my rom, make funky customised and blinged up versions of my rom. It's free to edit, make your own changes. Just credit FLB as the rom base :D Ok I'll shut up now. ;)

Not going in my rom though :D

Guest Rem1x Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 OI file manager. Very light weight, and very fast.
Guest Simon O Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 OI file manager. Very light weight, and very fast. Well I suppose it's fine to leave things as they are for now. Astro can easily be removed as it's on the data partition. I dont like that OI file manager.
Guest Evil Disco Guy Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 I only uploaded the Huawei File Manager (crap I know) for those who had an invalid URL error selecting music tones after getting rid of Astro. I installed Estrong but still got the error message sadly. Plus I no longer have menu lag/memory problems since replacing Music Mod (not using the widget) with the stock Music app. I can even use the Kindle app or browse normal sized websites and listen to music without it stuttering or the music app just quitting.

I'll need to test that myself. If it does stutter then I'll report it to Eliot and hopefully get a fix.
Guest Evil Disco Guy Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Great. I do prefer the Mod and I'd use it over stock if I had the chance. If it helps, all my music is encoded using LAME (3.98) at V2 quality with 2.4 ID3 tags and 500px album art embedded. Not sure if any of those settings could be the culprit.
