customising:

already uninstalled astro and installed estrong. probably i will try to get rid of some further stuff like email, gmail, gallery, huawai-filemanager, fancy-widget, goggle talk, animated wallpapers etc... is it enough to just delete *.apks?

Generally yes, but DO NOT remove google talk, otherwise lots of things will not work, including Market!!!!

Excellent rom, thank you flibblesan!

One small problem is that the lines are back on my photos when the click sound is turned off. I never had this problem with 1.0 (and only with 1.0) so I think it's kernel related. Now I'm waiting for the tre kernel version of 1.1 to have a totally perfect Pulse. Thanks for your great work again!

Anyone having the same problems as me? Everytime I connect the Pulse it comes up as new hardware found but which USB drivers do I use? I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the official 2.1 PC Suite but it still does not work.

Had this too. I use windowsXP and i experienced that, when i moved from Modaco 1.7 to FLB 1.0. i tried to install drivers manually from cd-rom, but that didn't work. But my sd-card was still mounted, though i got USB-errors. I could transfer 10gb of mp3 without one error. After i didn 't figure out the problems, as i use estrongs wlan in general.

Well installed 1.1 at 1am this morning and i've just had my first screen freeze that I used to get all the time with the beta roms. I never had one of them when using 1.0 so i'm guessing it's some sort of problem that lies within the hungarian rom.

s the sms problem (ie not receiving) sorted with FLB?

i don 't think so.

at the moment no one can imo promise you not getting any sms-issues. but the problem seems likely caused by low memory. if you have a fast SDHC, you can move dalviktosd and you have plenty of free memory.

Guys

I'm honestly trying to understand you with all of this "Flible, can you put this to the ROM or can you put that".

I mean what the heck.....

First.... at the very first page of this threat Flible clearly is saying "FILL FREE TO MODIFY THIS ROM", so if you want something that will suite your taste or need's just do it your self, I mean it is HES ROM and he compile the ROM for hes need's.

Second...if you don't know how to change something in the ROM...google it first, then search this forum (I am shure you will find everything you want to know) and if that doesn't satisfies you....than post a question.

I am seeing some of you is posting apps that is payed.....how you would like if someone is bricking your hard work???

That was just my thought's ......

since he didn't put in boot animation i was wondering if he wanted to put something flashy in :(

BTW I did google about the Wi-Fi status app removal before I posted but i didn't find the insrations to clear

soory i forget to say that this is the best rom you can get on a pulse in the world :(

Hello everyone. A long time lurker on this forum; I finally decided to join (even though like many on here I probably can't contribute much practically). I just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU to Fibblesan for all his hard work on this excellent ROM.

The latest version works like a dream on my phone... wifi, 3G, email, Android Market, voice search all functioning without a hitch. I am not sure what tweaks you have made to the memory management, but I am even able to do a tiny bit of multi-tasking with this version!!

When I paid £90 for my Pulse, I never had any expectation that it would ever keep pace with current developments in the Android community. I was on a painfully tight budget and just thrilled that I could get a smart phone for the money at all. I assumed that 1.5 would be all I could ever get, but that it was an incredible leap from my previous experience of early generation Symbian phone. Thus, every development since then has only served to delight me all the more.

This forum flies in the face of many an internet convention; seeing the encouragement, support, tolerance of newcomers/newbies, helpful bug crushing constructive criticism and general good banter on here. With this in mind, some of the negative comments that appear in these forums really do surprise me sometimes... I just hope that those few detractors never dampen the enthusiasm for development & research that the vast majority on here have.

So, a huge THANK YOU once again... to Fibblesan, BigBearMDC, Paul, ogiogi and all the other amazing contributors who have pushed my phone way beyond what I thought it ever capable of.

Oh, and hello :(

Kernel downgrade:

This change may be confusing for some people as the new Tre kernel was originally added to resolve some issues for people. Unfortunately it had the side effect of not working if you had never flashed the Tre firmware to your device.

(...)

A version of FLB-Mod with the Tre kernel will be available soon. This requires that you have updated your device with the Tre update and FLB.Mod Tre installed upon this through recovery.

Flib mate... I still say that Tre update has never been seen on my Pulse ever... And FLB v1.0 still runs smoothly, without any issues (well, except for memory issues but way not the amount as before :( )

So I'll just wait for v1.1 Tre-based version and will see if there's any difference (meaning I should apply Tre update before installing your awesome ROM).

As far as I remember many fellow FLB-users stated the same (upgrade process: Hungarian official 2.1 -> betaFLBs -> FLB v1.0) successfully and being pretty satisfied. You still think Tre-based FLB can not work without Tre-update? (Yes, I've read those posts about wifi/3G/other problems... But still suggest a vote (kinda prepared a week ago in one of my posts for ya :P) about issues and possible causes (upgrade process -> results).

Started considering some donation but forgot my PayPal account details and they are stored @home - and I am not there now :P

Keep up the good job givin' us faith in the Pulse :(

Cheers, mate!

Excellent job Flibble. :(

Best version so far.

No FC's so far.

Very much like the font.

Impressive battery performance and overall speed.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'm still offline at home until Virgin Media sort my broadband out.. next week :S

Anyway a couple of things I need to bring up:

1) Default font - this was a mistake. I was meant to make the font an optional install but somehow ended up not doing so. It'll either be fixed in the next update or a flashable update available.

2) Acore fc on boot - The system just gets a bit bogged down during first boot and Android thinks it's crashed. Nothing to worry about

3) Boot animation - I need to add this back in once I completely fix the black screen bug.

I've been trying to understand exactly why the tre kernel has been causing problems for a few people. I am pretty certain it's down to official updates upgrading various hardware firmware such as touchscreen, wifi etc. My old Pulse had everything from 1.5 t-mobile, 1.5 Swedish rom (the one that fixed vibration), 2.1 hungarian t-mobile (with and without custom_hu), and 2.1 tre. And of course lots of different custom roms.

It's possible that one of these upgraded the phone so the tre kernel works better, but as I had already used the official tre update before using the kernel with flb, I can't be sure.

The tre kernel is a lot better than the t-mobile kernel. It's just a shame that currently it's failing for so many people (which is why I'm not totally moving flb-mod over to this).

For the time being I will produce two versions of each FLB release. Sadly the FLB-Mod 1.1 with Tre kernel won't be released until next week and I apologise to everybody waiting for this. I didn't get round to testing it and I'm not sure if it's actually working as I totally rebuilt the base.

hi and yes i must agree the problem most be the way people upgraded to flb 1.0 becouse i went from tmo>1.5 then december then official 2.1 with hu then offial 2.1 without hu patch then flb1.0 .yes flb 1.0 is my first ever custumised rom and it works to the max no problems at all.most say you deserve the donations and thankx for a great rom and i may wait a few weeks for tre vertion of 1.1 since i love 1.0 dont feel like upgrading yet (lol all the trills and rush of upgrading nearly kill me jks heart racing must say or just a plain newbie feeling)

Is A2SD working on this version?

Installed the ROM ok, running a2sd check in Terminal Emulator shows the list but nothing in the square brackets [ ] to indicate of the option is enabled, it does say at the side tho that programs run from sd --- is this correct?

Me too, the same problem, running from Tre update, A2SD IS NOT WORKING, after a2sd install still the same, empty brackets and phone memory full... Going back for 1.0 immediately

First of all, a2sd is working, just flashed it from TRE, the reason that the * in the bracket is not showing is probably because of the font...

Whattttttt?! That's just not good enough. Burn him at the stake! :(

personally i prefer android boot animation, please leave it so... i like that, and incovenience of flashing strip is when boot freezes, you dont see it, only black screen...

i dont think so, because after fresh install of 1.1, and even after running a2sd install, theres still only 39.6 MB free on the phone memory...

might be because of davlik cache been on the internal storage....but a2sd does work...i though the same when i checked last night but i have since confirmed that a2sd works fine...

My path has been Dec Update -> MCR 1.7 -> Official 2.1 Hungary without Hu --> FLB beta3 -->FLB1.0

My phone has been quite stable and near perfact with 1.0 which I believe have Tre kernel. Hope it helps you to diagonse the issue with Kernel.

will wait for 1.1 with tre kernel and hope for repaired font... 39.6MB free seems too low... rolled back to 1.0 and waiting =)
