Guest tgomas Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Faster, better battery, newer appz. To be short, a total better experience with your Pulse. :) :D Do you think it will be noticeable? My FLB beta v5 is perfectly stable so would it be opening a can of worms to switch to 1.2?
Guest darkdevil1 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Do you think it will be noticeable? My FLB beta v5 is perfectly stable so would it be opening a can of worms to switch to 1.2? I personally doubt it, but you can always make a nandroid backup if you're worried it will go wrong.
Guest Azurren Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Do you think it will be noticeable? My FLB beta v5 is perfectly stable so would it be opening a can of worms to switch to 1.2? Any rom seems faster when you first install it :) So it will atleast seem a lot better for the first day
Guest Krinyo Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 1.2 is great rom. Tre kernel version is rock solid and stable. Thanx flibblesan. Worth every penny. :)
Guest tgomas Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 When I tried to wipe dalvik in recovery it didnt work and said to use adb which I also have trouble with, I went ahead and installed without that step, do you think this will cause me any problems?
Guest andreass4 Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Download: Huawei Dialer & Contacts (fix for 1.2 users with broken phone app) (3.78 MB) This downloadfile is destroyed... could you pls reupp this file?
Guest JohnPorter Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Re-flashed 1.2 again with the stock android launcher.....wow is all i can say...really fast and loving it at the moment. Well done Flibble!
Guest Totyasrác Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 Any rom seems faster when you first install it :) So it will atleast seem a lot better for the first day I've installed FLB v1.2 Friday pretty early (well, around 0:30 just as soon as it was released :D) and been rock solid'n'stable since - we can say 3 full days of usage. Far the best (so far I mean :D). I really do hope that Flib's gonna make progress with deleting some unnecessary [system] stuffa and get us some more free RAM - then I'll never sell my Pulse :P
Guest Simon O Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 This downloadfile is destroyed... could you pls reupp this file? Uploaded again. Tgomas: You may be OK.

Try this: http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=1360747 Edit: if You installed 2.0.5.1 earlier, then flash back 2.5.0.0 (latest menu on Rom Manager), then reflash 2.5.0.1 again, after copying the files to Your SD card... Guest niko1986 Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 I know everyone has their opinions on what apps would be great rolled into FLB and I think the choices are just about perfect you have made flibblesan. Yet the only app that really gripes me is Astro Manager and its adverts. Could an alternative be used? EStrongs File Explorer is free and just as feature filled as astro yet no obtrusive adverts taking up precious screen space.

Then why you just don't uninstall Astro and install Estrong...easy as that.
Guest Total Eclipse Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 I've not posted to this site in years (not since my Windows Mobile days) but wanted to pass on my thanks to fibblesan for all his efforts. I'm running 1.2 TRE after previously running Hungarian 2.1 followed by FLB 1.0, and it seems really impressive and stable. I do however have a couple of queries, and I guess this is the place for it. Firstly, is the SMS issue ever likely to be fixed? I know for sure that the issue was still there in 1.0 as a friend got a confirmation SMS to say his message to me was delivered, but I got nothing. Has anything changed in 1.2? I also missed a text while upgading to 1.2 over the weekend. Secondly, what framework was 1.0 using, and can I get it back? I love the overall look of 1.2, and things like the power control widget look great, but there's just TOO much green - the messaging app looks like a chocolate lime, and I much prefer the look in 1.0 Also, regarding the message app, has something changed in the way it caches data? It feels like it takes much longer to start than before, then takes another couple of seconds to change phone numbers into contact names. Is there any benefit to flashing the Huawei zip, or does that cause issues? BTW, the deciding factor in me installing a custom ROM was lack of app space in the official ROM - I wanted apps2sd. Is there any reason to not configue the dalvic cache to go in /cache (my card is only class2, though the SD tester says it writes at 5mb/s, so I've not moved the cache)? Minor niggles aside, it's a rock-solid ROM, and you achieved more than T-mobile seem to manage :)
Guest niko1986 Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) Then why you just don't uninstall Astro and install Estrong...easy as that. I do and it takes me a minute at best and its no trouble. Thats not why I replied. Fibble's motto for the rom is 'Faster Lighter Better'. Astro is about 1MB larger. The adverts take up a fair amount of screen space. Although its only a few moments the adverts slow down loading of the app and I find it lags the navigation when a new advert loads. Just offering an idea that IMO would make FLB-MOD better. Probably should have said why it should be replaced in my first post. Edited August 2, 2010 by niko1986
Guest Mike Mc Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Tre kernel does not work for me. Keeps hanging, error messages, etc. Trying the T-Mobile version now...

It would have taken you less than 5 seconds to find the thread located at the top of the Pulse forum called "Installing the custom recovery image on your device" which takes you to http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...on-your-device/ Follow the instructions, install amon_ra recovery and you'll have recovery. Then you can choose if you want to try and install clockwork again.
