Guest meinnit Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 it gives you up to 70MB plus a great speed improement. @ flibble Do you got release date for 1.3? to include: -memory config -deleting sync xxxx stuff (from "undeleting uneeded things" thread -a place saving bootanimation -deleting unneeded ring and notification sounds(like horrible camera sound) i did this thing for myself and i got more space and more speed, without missing anything. I don't think ALL of those suggestions are a good idea. Maybe have the option to delete stuff but having it by default may cause problems for some (or even most) users
Guest timh30 Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 RAM is not storage space. You can use 'a2sd check' from adb shell to see if Apps2SD is installing apps to SD. So when the previous poster stated "I have about 53 MB of free internall memory" - this is not refering to RAM but storage space ? What is Advanced task killer showing me when it says 'Available Memory' - is this storage space as well ? If so, why am I still seeing much lower values than the previous poster? A2SD is definitely working, 'a2sd check' shows apps are on SD and cache is moved to SD as well (class 4 card).
Guest Zsolabola Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 @Flibb this is the best ROM ever :) thanks The only thing i can't find is the SIM application shortcut Do I miss something or simply it's not there?
Guest TonyDigi Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 @Flibb I have installed FLB-Mob 1.2 and stock market. it's very nice. Can you fix stock launcher's dock bar a little like motorola blur's dock? . (2 button: phone and contact) like that
Guest MuhaJR Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) Why nobody answers to my questions? :) Do I really have to go back to stock 2.1 HU ROM???? :P What, nobody had that problem? :D This is nonsense. I should seek for other ROM, obviously.... :D This doesn't work well for me (1.0, 11., 1.2 Tre nor TMO)... Something kills phone app in my cell, since beginning, so it's not one of my apps... Stock ROM doesn't kill it, however, it's not rooted, it's loaded with crap I don't need. But, obviously I HAVE TO use it... Edited August 4, 2010 by MuhaJR
Guest Simon O Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Why nobody answers to my questions? :) I would say probably because nobody is having the same problem you are having.
Guest MuhaJR Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I would say probably because nobody is having the same problem you are having. OK, I understand that. But nobody doesn't even have a clue what it might be? I sure don't have - that's why I'm asking.

It could be a faulty radio equipment is your device, or even a problem of the GSM network also. I think that the radio part of the ROM is not touched by tweaked ROMs Maybe you could try the 1.5 original ROM to check the RADIO part of your terminal
Guest meinnit Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 So when the previous poster stated "I have about 53 MB of free internall memory" - this is not refering to RAM but storage space ? A2SD is definitely working, 'a2sd check' shows apps are on SD and cache is moved to SD as well (class 4 card). 53MB is quite high to be RAM (run time memory) so I'm assuming he is referring to storage space. I don't use Advanced Task Killer so I'm not sure what the 'Available Memory' is quoting. Maybe someone else can confirm this? You can check storage space by going here: Settings -> SD card & phone storage settings -> Available Space Mine says 60.94MB

You can check storage space by going here: Settings -> SD card & phone storage settings -> Available Space Mine says 60.94MB Hi, my available space is showing as 66.8MB (which I take as good?). I think the confusion arises then as people are incorrectly stating 'memory' (which to me means RAM), rather than storage space. Thanks for clearing this up.

If they are using a customized Kernel you will end up in Force Closes. Ill have a trie on this now, if there is the possibilitiy of using it, ill report it to you. *Edit* Downloaded Motorola Click Rom or whatever this Phone is called :) No chance to get any app working, just those free apps like facebook or amazonmp3 store. I think they did som customizing aswell, cause even installing the motoblur services fails. Edited August 4, 2010 by Basher52

Only edit dock bar in stock launcher , like they can do with adw and launcher pro. Step 1: Transform hit region of button "apps" Step 2: insert 2 button phone and contact like motoblur's dock. Guest SaladOA Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 So I'm currently running rooted 1.5. I... 1) Do a lot of texting, using Handcent SMS as my app of choice. 2) Use 3G a lot out and about 3) Have around 19 can't-live-without apps 4) Leave my phone on as much as possible, only restarting when I need to fix an error like downloads hanging (this can mean up to 3-4 days uptime, with average usage if I'm lucky) Should I install FLB? I'm getting increasingly worried that 1.5 is suddenly starting to die out. 3 of my favourite apps have dropped 1.5 support in the last month.
Guest AJV Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Should I install FLB? Yes. Make a nandroid back-up, you can always go back if you don't like it. Though you do of course hear about all the problems in a forum like this I would bet the majority of people who have installed the ROM have not had any (or many) problems. I have experienced the odd problem, I missed a couple of texts on FLB 1.1 and couldn't get Swype working on the original 1.2 but have Swype working on the latest version and everything seems smooth and happy... so far :)

Could I instantly go back to my 1.5 install exactly as I left it just by booting in to recovery and reflashing this backup?

AFAIK, you would first have to use a tool published by Huawei to go back to the default 1.5 (December update) before being able to restore your nandroid backup. But yes, it's possible to roll back.
Guest Trebor Rude Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I'm currently on FLB-Mod v1.2 and i've got a small problem here: Before upgrading to the FLB custom ROM, i signed up a Google Account specially to access to Android Market. Then as i download apps from the Market, my Google account actually logs the apps downloaded, and hence able to provide "New Updates Available" whenever there are new app updates/versions available in the Market. However, after i installed the FLB custom ROM, and used the same Google Account to sign-in, i still receive the usual "New Updates Available" message from the Market. However, when i check my Downloads section in the Market, there appears to be no apps that needs to be updated (as the new custom ROM included different apps and have erased the provious apps that i have). This means the notification of new updates are available are actually for the apps that i have in my previous ROM, but not the current ROM i'm on now. So how do i go about the problem of the Market updating me that there're new updates when i already have upgraded to a custom ROM that no longer have the previous apps that i've installed in my previous ROM? I've solved similar problems in the past by using the "aTrackDog" application. After the first run, all my Market links are back the way they should be. I don't know how or why this works, but it's worked several times for me. I'd be curious to see if it works for anyone else. :)

I missed the SIM toolkit too (I'm using a dual SIM adapter). Guest igor_anta Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I just noticed that in CyanogenMod they have settings to change the color of clock and text in notification, provider and drop down notifications. Looks something like so: menu ==> Settings ==>CyanogenMod settings ==> User interface ==> Status bar ==> Color clock. Change it. Write #ffffffff menu ==> Settings ==>CyanogenMod settings ==> User interface ==> Date and provider ==> Date color. #ffffffff menu ==> Settings ==>CyanogenMod settings ==> User interface ==> Date and provider ==> Carrier PLMN label color. #ffffffff menu ==> Settings ==>CyanogenMod settings ==> User interface ==> Date and provider ==> Carrier SPN label color. #ffffffff menu ==> Settings ==>CyanogenMod settings ==> User interface ==> Notifications color ==> Notifications ticker color. #ffffffff Is this doable? Are these lines from build.prop that can be changed or something more complex. This might make theming a bit easier and give some themes more diversity. Also don't want to be a bore since I'm asking this for a while but can the 3D Gallery be fixed for this rom? Not the "fix" that restarts the app, the real one that is implemented in Cyan and Villain roms. Great rom BTW, I can't seem to find any flaw with the things it has at the moment, just the things that are still missing :) Cheers!

They use a custom services.jar along with a custom build SpareParts and Settings applications. We can't build Android 2.1 so can't do the same.. yet. I'm not aware of any fix for the 3D gallery that could work for us. Do you have any links?
Guest kankle123 Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Every time I update will I have to keep wiping all my stuff and having to reinstall all my applications again and set up all their preferences and sort out A2SD from scratch? Is there no neater way?

Here is a thread where they say the issue is solved: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issue...ied&id=1280 And in the Villain ROM, ever since version 10 I think, it says that the 3D Gallery works 100%, but on the Pulse it still has the same problem. I have no idea what's the difference, we have the same res and CPU with the Hero :) EDIT: A video of the Gallery working on the Spica: http://androidmods.com/android-phones/sams...pps-gallery-3d/ Also here's a link to a forum where they claim the gallery is working just fine, but again not so for our Pulse :D http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/to..._1398#entry1398 Edited August 4, 2010 by igor_anta

Guest IceXcube84 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Realistically for now the only way would be not to upgrade. Official ROM updates wipe phones also. Same thing that make me not to upgrade from v1.1 Not so funny to install all my stuff again like 50 apps. I do it easy for me and only upgrade the things that piss me off like the music app to the stock one. I upgrade my FLB-Mod from v1.0 Beta 5.1 Update 1 to flbmod_v1.1_tmo and i did not wipe nothing and it worked perfect. But this time it did not work to do same with the 1.2 tmo I did only extract the things i need and puted it with the astro in my phone instead. Now it start to get irritating to upgrade it to often but its nice you fix the bugs :) But i still have a irritating bug. Some time i cant get the music through my bluetooth headset so the only way that fix it is a restart on the phone. Not sure if its the phone or the bluetooth headset but it can be the music app you used instead for the stock one. Will test thre stock one and see if it work like it shpud now. My bluetooth headset is a Sony Ericsson MW600 same that is bundled with the Sony Ericsson X10. Nice sound and worth the price. I have seen a other weird bug. Saome time the Fancy Weather is not updating like it shoud and it was same in that other HTC weather widget that i dont remember the name off. flibban is it possible to make a upgrade that only upgrade the things you do and no need to wipe? I hope my donation to you got useful.
