Guest Simon O Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Same thing that make me not to upgrade from v1.1 Not so funny to install all my stuff again like 50 apps. I do it easy for me and only upgrade the things that piss me off like the music app to the stock one. I upgrade my FLB-Mod from v1.0 Beta 5.1 Update 1 to flbmod_v1.1_tmo and i did not wipe nothing and it worked perfect. But this time it did not work to do same with the 1.2 tmo I did only extract the things i need and puted it with the astro in my phone instead. Now it start to get irritating to upgrade it to often but its nice you fix the bugs :) But i still have a irritating bug. Some time i cant get the music through my bluetooth headset so the only way that fix it is a restart on the phone. Not sure if its the phone or the bluetooth headset but it can be the music app you used instead for the stock one. Will test thre stock one and see if it work like it shpud now. My bluetooth headset is a Sony Ericsson MW600 same that is bundled with the Sony Ericsson X10. Nice sound and worth the price. I have seen a other weird bug. Saome time the Fancy Weather is not updating like it shoud and it was same in that other HTC weather widget that i dont remember the name off. flibban is it possible to make a upgrade that only upgrade the things you do and no need to wipe? I hope my donation to you got useful. As long as I don't change the system core and just update apps etc then a non-wipe upgrade can be done. It may need dalvik-cache wiping but it'll be better than wiping all your user settings and apps from the phone. For the bluetooth issue have you tried installing MusicMod 1.6? http://development.piratemedia.tv/2010-06-...v1-6-mdpi-hdpi/ If this works then the issue will be the fix I implemented into the stock player to prevent issues with random music playback.

MusicMod 1.6 was the problem for me. I have changed it now to the one there is in your 1.2 version. The stock one. See if that solve the problem. All the other things is working like it shoud. I dont feel that i need to reinstall the firmware yet and do everything from scrath again. EDIT: I have tsted the stock one now and it seems the problem is solved. I will stay with the stock one instead for the MusicMod v1.6 Edited August 5, 2010 by IceXcube84
Guest fredewis Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 @ flb this the best rom ever i know it took me a few heart attaks to get it going since did something wrong so hat to start form 0 but wow im glad lol you are the bommm and ooo one more thing wel i dont relly like the boot images in 1.2 how can i change it to like the heart beat .or the one in 1.0 or can this be change by you
Guest giabbe1 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 @ flb: in the latest versions of ur roms I cannot find the option to assign a contact to a specific group, among those synced with google contacts. to clarify: my contacts are synced with my google accounts, in which they are grouped in different groups. in the older versions of ur roms (can't remember which ones though, think 5.1 etc) I could go to a contact in my phone and specify to which groups it would belong. now that option is not present anymore.. how can I have the older version of contacts on the 1.2 rom?
Guest MuhaJR Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) I would say probably because nobody is having the same problem you are having. I think I have found a problem: phone app is FC-ing and that is the problem. Same prob had ogiogi (here). But, for now, (got back to 2.1 HU original, flashed to 2.1 Tre, reflashed to 2.1 TMO) no problems - for now... Problem exist. When someone calls me, first call is dropped. Like something kills phone ap... Other problem occured: every root application constantly asks for Superuser request (allow, deny) and even if "Remember" checkbox is on, it doesn't remeber it... as goncalosilva here... FIXED! Here is how... Going all the way back - 1.5, then root, then 2.1 HU. No custom for me anymore. I need phone... Edited August 6, 2010 by MuhaJR

Not sure what caused them, but doing a full wipe of everything (including ext partition on SD!!) and then reinstalling custom mod fixed it for me.
Guest igor_anta Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 So flibble, how about a v1.2b release with the new kernel? No other significant changes I guess till someone releases the source and we get all the awesome stuff the MCR custom kernel for 1.5 had. Cheers!

Weird, all the issues that you have might mean you missed some steps when upgrading to FLB. Full wipe, dalvik and ext, and then flash. Better than official version for sure. If you go back to official 2.1 though forget the HU update, UK released a better one today.

Guest igor_anta Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I'll need some time to do that. What do you mean more time? You're working under the gun mister, we need this ASAP! Nah, just kidding :) Use all the time in the world, I'm quite satisfied with the FLB I'm already using. Cheers!

Upgrading my phone using the UK 2.1 ROM has, for some reason, stopped my Nandroid backups from booting. They definitely worked two days ago. So I've got to install everything again :D

Guess there might be some conflict with the Tre kernel in your FLB 1.2?
Guest Simon O Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Weird issue :) Yep. I could restore them but the phone would reboot into recovery every time I tried to boot :D
Guest DanWilson Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yep. I could restore them but the phone would reboot into recovery every time I tried to boot :D Remember when Bobo posted the leaked 2.1 to Paul, and the boot.img he supplied was a recovery image? Maybe T-Mobile have switched the partitions round, meaning that any Nandroid with the old partition layout, would flash boot to the wrong place, resulting in recovery. :)
Guest igor_anta Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hey flibble, I know it's really not on your list of priorities at the moment, with the backup all *beep* up and all, but before I forget. Check this bootanimation out, it's really nice, not flashy and boots well. Maybe for your next release? DOWNLOAD: bootanimation.zip
Guest ringer Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 ... Not got a lot of time to work on the ROM for the next few weeks. Top class work you have done with the FLB ROMs Flibblesan, you have made a lot of people happy and no doubt enjoyed doing it, but there are other things in life. Have a break mate, you deserve it.
Guest Pakatus Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Any idea if Swype works in this rom? Installed it...but cant seem to make the touchpal dont go "as default". Try to reboot the device, after choosing swype in keyboards screen...but still no good. Allways Touchpal...all the time.

T-Mobile UK have changed the sizes of the system and the data partitions. Less space on system, more space on data.

Any clue on whether the kernel is actually any newer than the Tre or Hungarian kernel?

I really haven't got a clue if the kernel is newer or not :) Luckily FLB-Mod is smaller than 100MB system so it still fits. Edited August 6, 2010 by flibblesan

Guest Simon O Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Very important notice: As the UK 2.1 update sets the System partition to be 100MB rather than the 110MB that the Tre and Hungarian ROMs set, this means that most of the FLB-Mod ROMs will fail to install. A ROM will only install on a system that has been updated with the UK 2.1 ROM only if the system files are no bigger than 96MB. The following ROMs are compatible with this new partition scheme: FLB-Mod 1.2-Tre

Guest FyodorNinian Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Hi all Am relatively new to the Pulse but have installed the last couple of versions of the ROM - fantastic work flibblesan!!! Absolutely love it. Shall be donating!! One question - I have 1.2 on my Pulse and use Opera as my default browser. I'd like to swap the browser button (or link) in the dock at the bottom of the screen to open Opera rather than the stock browser, but can't work out how. I've set Opera in Opera as the default browser, now if I click on browser in dock, the standard browser opens, I add an URL and it opens Opera, but I'd like to go straight to Opera! Any help on above much appreciated. :-) Edited August 6, 2010 by FyodorNinian
