Guest Lollylost100 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) You're turning off the display :) The new recovery uses the track"ball" to select a menu item. I know. I was confused as the trackpad up/down didn't work for me at the start (slightly works now) and the vol up/down did. So I automatically thought the power button would be the select button. I was wrong, but it's sorted now. Thanks for this great work Paul! Edited June 9, 2010 by Lollylost100
Guest Nicke Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Yep sorry, it confused me that he says legend... Sorry I dont know if it means that the Legend can use this... hm "The same technique also applies to the Legend." A bit confusing yes. :)

Guest dread123 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Paul, would the checksum stop the backup from working? or should it be ok to reflash?

Guest scopes64 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Can I ask two newbie questions. To do this does my phone have to be rooted? From this recovery can I flash other roms?
Guest AltDimension Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Try to download the update.zip again from the mirror... Tried, and with a different sdcard (the one that actually came with the Desire) and still the same error(s). Interestingly, when I first go into stock recovery I get: E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command Does that have any significance?
Guest Paul Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 This is for devices rooted with the test image. P
Guest atconc Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 This is what i get... :) PS: i have NOT rootet my device so far its all original 1.21.405.2 Firmware I think this is your problem, rooting changes the keys to test keys so you so this production keys the signature validation would be expected to fail
Guest foxmeister Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Makes me want to buy the desire and not wait for the evo to come to Europe. O/T, but a handy tip for you - the Evo will *never* come to Europe. Why? Two reasons! First of all it is a CDMA device and there are no CDMA cellular networks in Europe. Secondly, the 4G radio is WiMAX - as far as I'm aware, no European cellular networks have any plans to implement 4G via WiMAX, and will instead use LTE. Regards, Dave

Guest newbe5 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 This *MIGHT* work to flash 1.22 (I am stuck with 1.22 on my phone and can't root). But when trying to use the update.zip I get: "E:failed to verify whole-file signature" "E:signature verification failed". Is there any way around this that may allow rooting for 1.22 roms? newbe5
