i never gave TW a chance when i got the phone, since all the reviews were saying it laggs. I been trying everything to land on the perfect phone setup. First I used SPB, SPB with special themes, I tried 6.5 default, and finally Classic home screen. Finally i gave the Stock setup a try, and surprisingly, it's my favorite one.

SPB mobile shell

Pro: customizable, smooth, good looking. Calender widget is very nice, opens to a very simple agenda view.

Cons: high ram usage, occasionally freezes (but this is not necessarily SPBMS's fault).

- biggest problem i have with it is that you have to customize it a bit TOO much. gets messy. and tiring if you flash or reset once in a while.

Default 6.5

Pros: clean, stable

Cons: pretty much useless...calendar displays only 1 item, and only on the day, and you have to be ON calender. useless for people who use phone as agenda.

Classic

Pros: alot of programs come with very useful today plugins. Spam alert's today plugin manage profile, wireless, bluetooth, message, and it does it in a very small plug in.

- even more stable and fast.

Con: not pretty. requires many additional apps to get the plugins.

FinallY:

Touch Wiz:

Pros: 1) TOUCH PLAYER widget. this is a huge plus for people that uses this phone for music. Fast, and leads to Touch Player! RADIO widget.

2) Customizable, yet SO SIMPLE!! i didnt realize TW was the one for me until i saw it on my Friend's samsung phone. it's so CLEAN yet Functional.

3) i feel it's stable, perhaps because it's designed for the hardware.

Con:

-no home screen calendar. but you can put a Samsung Calendar shortcut, and set it to open in agenda view. then it works very nicely.

- switching home screen isn't very smooth. but IMO, if you use TW for cleanness like me, maybe 1 screen is enough.

PEACE

How about comparing to Sense 2.5 UI?

Have you tried it yet?

Lots of things on TW is still quite useless... Don't like the way it works anyway, espeically the Touch-Widget thing...

I would rather Samsung just copy the android way, drag and place icons on the desktop rather than this widget thing.

I used to use samsung tw and liked it but have recently been trying throttlelauncher 1.1.8 for my today screen with the opengl v1 drivers installed.

More choice of widgets for what i use the phone for..... except I have to use shortcuts for radio and media player rather than desktop widgets. Although if you use s2p then there are today screen widgets for that.
