Guest AndyHamp Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem with Window 7 Professional 64bit. I've just been given a Lenovo W510 machine at work and want to use the Omnia to Sync with Oulook as i did with my old machine and XP. I'm assuming that people have this working as i can only find people having problems with flashing from Win7. What do i need to install and in what order ? I've downloaded Kies and installed that as it claims to give me the drivers. Do i also need to install "windows Mobile Device Centre" ? (I'm assuming i do as i can't find anything builtin to Win7. The laptop has thee USB ports. 2 USB2 and 1 USB3. When i connect the I8000 to any of the USB ports, it shows up in the Devices panel (Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers) under a title of Unspecified. So i obvioulsy have a driver problem but i can't work out how to resolve it as i can't find a driver download anywhere. Any ideas ? Interestingly if i cannect the device and then open up Internet Sharing it shows up OK and allows me to get at the internet ! (it shows up as an NDIS Internet Sharing Device). Also has anyone installed the WMDC software ? When i click on the start menu item, nothing appears to happen. Many Thanks for your help ... Andy
Guest x2h Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 interesting. I have W7 64bit Home premium and it seems to come with everything that it needs to sync with my Omnia 2. Hope you solve the problem soon.

Guest Aj. Cole Posted June 11, 2010 Report Posted June 11, 2010 I don't suppose you know what he upgraded to ? i think i'm running JC1 Hi Andy. I use Win7 Enterprise x64 on my office Lenovo ThinkCenter Intel PC, and it came with Windows Mobile Device Center already installed. If you don't have this software on your PC, then I suggest you install it from this link: WMDC This link requires a genuine copy of Windows, then you can download WMDC. Once you've installed WMDC and rebooted, connect your Windows Mobile device (Omnia SGH-i900 in my case). Now do a right-click on My Computer and select Manage. Check that there are no yellow icons indicating drivers have not been properly installed. If you DO have yellow icons, click on them and select the Update Driver button. I prefer to let Windows check through the Internet for the correct drivers. Usually Win7 finds the correct drivers for the SGH-i900. Under Mobile Devices it is called Samsung MITs USB Sync on both my x32 & x64 systems. Once all drivers and WMDC is installed correctly, connect your Omnia II and see if your Lenovo finds it. If not, please respond here and either myself or others will attempt to help you. Good luck. :)

Good luck. :) Well i've installed WMDC and i've installed the Samsung Kies application which includes the driver package ... see attached image. But i'm beginning to think this isn't the correct package for win 7 64bit ... or is it. if i try and install the device with or without the drivers installed i get the second image. Also please note that if i set up the USB connection to Mass Storage i can see the device as a removeable drive and read and write to it. Any help very appreciated .....
