Guest xkill3rprox Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Since the Google Nexus One is able to record 720p videos after a hack, is it possible since the Omnia 2 & Nexus One are using 5 MegaPixels camera? I'm not really that good at the specs requirements, so i'll have to ask this noob question. My bad if it has been asked before. But i didn't see anything related when i search. Thanks if anyone can answer me.
Guest .hack_infection Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) I haven't read much into the nexus one hack, but as far as I know, the omnia 2 can already do 720p recording, just not at a full 30 frames per second. bUt in my use, the camera has been just fine for me. And yes, the omnia 2 does have a 5 megapixel camera. Edited June 15, 2010 by .hack_infection
Guest .hack_infection Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Nope, max of 720x480. 720p is 1280x720. ah good point.
Guest lambi1982 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 yeah Omnia 2 is only capable of 480p and that is a hardware limitation of its processor "By embedding a hardwired Multi Format Codec (MFC) on-chip, the S3C6410 can perform video capturing in MPEG4/H.263/H.264 format and replay functions in MPEG4/H.263/H.264/VC1 format, The MFC offers standard-definition (SD) quality video capturing and playback at 30fps " I thought the same thing when I first got it :) .... on release day :)

If my guess isn't wrong, it's not possible to record 720p on the Omnia 2 right?
Guest Carlos Sun Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Every mobile devices with Windows Mobile are not capable with 720p video capturing due to the sucks system kernel, even the HD2.
Guest Blau Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 IT interest of this topic. But how about when you could have a hack to to record 720p video? I saw the N1 video, its okay in 480p, but when in a low-light environment and it become slowly. But in i8000 the video function and hardware processor it good at low-light environment, it's perform no lag issue in my i8000 video Also, if really need a 720p video record, it should be brought a DC for it. By DC have auto focus when doing camcord, many of mobile phone not.
Guest Arkadas Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 It would be nice if we could also hack it, to lower the frames of the video, to get better performance when recording video (frame stutter). regards, Arkadas
