fake-flash working great, but when i try to flash custom rom i get:

Formatting Boot

E: error finishing Boot

E: Failure at line 386

write_raw_image Pakackage:boot.img Boot

installation aborted

any ideas whats wrong?

I've had the HTC CIME baked in to the rom and the pinch-to-zoom is not working in browser.

You have bad block/s on your boot.img. Wait for Paul to make the boot.img's of his ROMs smaller, or you can try DeFroST which already has a considerably smaller one.

1. problem on the video, setting color option, phone auto restart

2. use v2.1 build.prop, can see all the purchased apps, some of the apps like asphalt5

Autobrightness is dimmer than in defrost. Paul: can you fix this pls?

Despite my wifi sleep policy being 'never' I regularly wake my phone to find it's wifi has disconnected, and I have to manually reconnect it. The wifi doesn't turn off as soon as the phone enters sleep - but after a little while.

Same behaviour as present on later Defrosts for me also (so likely a kernel issue?).

Anyone have any ideas?

That's strange. Mine stayed connected all last night. Wpa2 using dgn2000 router..

So can anyone tell us why this is happening? I understand we have to wait for Paul, a tad more detail would help us understand why some of us are getting this. Is it worth creating a new partiton? Also the only thing I took out was wave secure, maybe if I left it in, you never know.

Paul, some updates from myself:

issues:

while standby battery usage is approx. 1% every 30 minutes not bad

while playing around much faster than on stock rom but not much (around 20% faster drain)

auto brightness little but lagged and still not bright as on stock/mcr.3.1

no full exchange support (i suppose its because for now froyo is a test/non official rom)

pros:

rom is very fast and stable

bt working great, pairing with my headset

mms are working (did not on defrost)

market works fine as usual comparable to stock/mcr

suggestions:

could you use htc dialer pad instead nexus? much better dialing comfort ;)

Noooo... keep it all stock... the htc dialer is total crap imo, its messy and looks shite - its missing one major feature (unless I've overlooked it) the nice bluetooth button to transfer sound to and from connected devices!!!

I have had this installed for about 3 hours now.

Lightning fast but I'm finding it to be a major power hog.

I've not realty had much time do play around with it or anything like that, just installedand then went out the door to work.

My battery has dropped 32% in 3 hours in which the phone was idle during most of.

73% of my power is being consumed by display according to the battery infor section of spare parts.

Still though love the ROM

Which radio are you using? I've got next to no extra drain from the screen using the radio from 1.15.405.4

e.g. since last unplugged (8am UK-time) screen has used 0.5% and it's now 9:30am UK-time

i downloaded the original zip file from paul.

other roms like defrost run normally :/

Kernel 2.6.32.9 didn't have FM driver and there isn't FM Radio app outside sense (for what i know) :(

if u need FM, the only solution atm is to use a sense rom

stock dialer is SO much better than Sense one - I love it!!

This ROM is pretty much perfect, just need to get a few niggles ironed out but other than that this is my FT ROM
