Do you think you could fix the mpll crippling your tool does on the i8000? For some reason when i use this tool it locks my mpll at 305*0.5 = 152.5 when the native mpll speed for i8000's is 388*0.5 = 194

I understand you are building this officially for the b7610 but it would certainly be appreciated if you could make this great tool work equally well on the i8000! Thanks, and keep up the good work. :)

hey guys, got a weird problem. I overclocked to 900Mhz and rebooted my phone. After that it says that my sim is missing!!! When I went back to disable " auto set CPU speed at startup" and rebooted again, it's back again...

I am using Daskalos 6.5 Sense ROM

Yes, according to transistor theory it will. But I think the change is not that big. The power consumption should change linearly with the clock speed. Then you add a constant power loss to dissipation. So that means That if you clock your omnia from 800 to 950, it will only consume about 15% more.

Note that I never tested this, just theory.

thanks for he info nemesix, I was just wondering about consumption myself.

a further question: would the increase in consumption only occur when there's "something to do" for the processor, ie. phone being used, or will it also occur when the phone is on, but in sleep-mode?

(if the first should be the case, how about a background service that automatically OCs the phone on wake-up & then UCs it on entering sleepmode?)

It will just retain the overclocked speed when device is in use. When device sleeps, the speed automatically scales down. When device wake up, S3Clock restores the OC speed that was set.

thanks for clearing that up daskalos!

thanks for the excellent work

bro, Im using I8000 with SB rom (atm using SB 29 with WM 6.5.3 or WM 6.5.5) and using this app seems not working in this ROM

first time im hit FPU enabler, thenS3Clock and nothing happen... then i hit 954Mhz and nothing happen, example pop up notification or something like that.. please guide me... :)

its not working for me either on GC's 6.5.3 JE3 or GC's 6.5.3 JD1. Maybe everyone could post on which roms the program is working?

Edit: it appears that as of now, overclocking will only work on 6.1 and 6.5, not 6.5.3 or 6.5.5. I just went back to GC's JD4 and it is working great. :P

i hope next release will work with WM 6.5.3 or WM 6.5.3 version :D

thanks bro daskalos for your hard work

my b7610 is now running @900mhz without any flaws, i am using your wm6.5.3 full rom if not mistaken. however it was not easy to let it run, the GUI is not very simple to understand, however your how-to is more than perfect, now i understand it,

@kipps, i am not a great fan of benches, if you don't notice any difference when using apps/vids/games there is something wrong with the oc or your app!

Daskalos, do you still need some help with this tool? (I've been a Windows / PocketPC developer for over a decade) No guarantees, only best effort

I'd like to see some new functionality in this tool, like autostart after reset.

Easy Set S3Clock

Easy Set S3Clock

BIG CREDITS TO:

Epsylon3/Tanguy for S3Clock

NuShrike for FPUEnabler

20100103_184936_0067_111g.jpg

What's with the app?

Well,we know that by the use of S3Clock, GPIOtool (by Tanguy) and FPUEnabler (NuShrike) and manually registry editing, we can Overclock/Underclock our device (B7610,i8000). I made a simple app to make clock adjustments more easier. I called my app Easy Set S3Clock.

How to use:

1. Install in Device. In Samsung Settings, Set Performance at Auto or High.

2. Open Easy Set S3Clock.

3. If this is the first time you will overclock (or your device came from fresh soft reset), tap FPUEnabler and tap patch then tap OK

4. Choose a preset clock speed.

5. Tap S3Clock button to open S3Clock. Check if desired clock speed is achieve. Press hide (not quit) to keep S3Clock running in the background.

6. You can now exit Easy Set app.

How to change clock speed (assuming that a selected speed is already running):

1. Open Easy Set S3Clock

2. Tap S3Clock button to open S3Clock, then tap Quit (not hide)

3. Choose a preset clock speed.

4. Then Tap S3Clock button to open S3Clock and check if desired speed is achived. Tap HIDE (not quit)

About Clock Speed Buttons :

Blue presets are slow, Green presets are stable, Red presets frequently hang up or crashes the device

For More Info See Post #2

Thing To Do:

Well the app code was based on very old Visual Basic, and I don't really know much about it (just learned some codes from youtube, googling and asking some people with experience this whole day). It is really a newbie's simple app, and there are so many things to update like adding some automatic functions, graphics, the ugly icon :D etc.

So if you know anything about Visual Basic or C#, please help me update this app:rolleyes:

Sample Benchmark (952Mhz)

20100101_221047_0068_111g.jpg

seems good, let me try later :D
