Gmail not deleting from server, only device...

Recently noticed my Gmail is not deleting stuff from the server when I've deleted stuff on my phone. Is there a setting I've messed up on or is it a ROM glitch? I'm on r17 MoDaCo Froyo.

The mail deletes from my handset but not from the server... - Solvable easily enough by deleting from my web book when I get home, but its annoying...

Any ideas? - Dayz xx

I have this the last few days, too.

I think, it was one of such google synchonize problems, we have all few days.

Now it works, and I have not change anything.

Try to :

Go in : Settings > Applications > (menu) All > gmail Storage space, not sure it still in the R17, if not, go directly to the gmail application (empty the cache + data + delete to force stop) > gmail application (do the same: empty the cache + data + delete to force the stop).

Then turn off the device.

Normally it's good or gmail is fully working.

go to gmail on your web browser, settings -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> disable pop and imap

gmail should start syncing correctly

Same problem for me, but pop/imap forwarding is already disabled ;)

Make sure forwarding is disabled, IMAP is enabled and POP is disabled.

Then it will work.

Basically if you guys want to have all your emails synchronized, aka ... deleting email from your handset to delete the email on the server... then you need to use IMAP only.

IMAP will do the sync with server, not POP.

POP is only pushing the emails to handset, but there is no sync for all the changes on device, like deleting emails, moving emails to different folders.
