Guest OneCheekyDevil Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 I'm using Launcher Pro and have lost the colour LED feature with R9 too. Thought a full wipe and installing the final version of R9 might have fixed it but unfortunately not. +1
Guest Paulo Nobrega Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 oh.. and i thought it was only me... I think it was also lost in R9... I asked to Paul the the Rom post a while ago, but got no answer... Didn't want to persist asking... it was very usefull... I thought i was also from using launcher Pro, but then i tried again Sense and got no luck. I tried a full wipe, with launcher pro, with sense, with chompsms and hancent sms and got no luck... No more multi color LED... It must be the ROM...
Guest RevoWution Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Mine works fine. Been using the light blue LED notification since the last Handcent update, and have been running r9 for a month or so now :P
Guest Invisible Elf Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Does anyone know if there's a way to get the sense previews on the lockscreen, but without the notification in the notification bar? I'd really like to use handcent but I just can't stand it's horribly ugly lockscreen message previews :s

U using Sense?? I have Sense, but I use LauncherPro Plus as my default homescreen/launcher. However, I just tried with Sense, and the light blue LED notification works too. I included everything in the bake EXCEPT Wavesecure, WiFi status indicator, and the custom governer settings. Did you disable your phone's default notification(s) for SMS messages before testing out Handcent's LED settings? :P
Guest Paulo Nobrega Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Yes i have disabled... But standard app does not have LED color choice, i think. im gonna bake a new rom with everything on it... do a nandroid backup and wipe again just for testing.... if it works on u i cant see why it does not work on us :P
Guest RevoWution Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 But standard app does not have LED color choice, i think. Yeah, I was just double checking you didn't have the default "green" notification turned on, which may have been overriding Handcent's custom LED colour settings :P And by default notification settings, I meant going into "Settings" --> "Display" --> "Notification flash", and unticking the SMS/MMS notification option there.
Guest Invisible Elf Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Try widgetlocker it's an app that lets you put widgets on the lockscreen so you can use the message widget. Yeah I tried it before but it made my phone run like crap and I don't think that one looks particularly good either, but thanks for the suggestion

Guest aidfarh Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Here's something you might check: In Handcent, Go to Settings > Notification settings > Notification settings > Color of LED. You should have five options: Blue, Green, Amber, Pink and LightBlue. If you have different options, it means Handcent is not detecting that the phone is a Desire and thus is not giving the right commands to the phone to activate the correct LED lights. I believe this is a problem with the ROM. You might need to flash another ROM and/or perform a full wipe and manual restore to fix this.

I've tried to wipe the app's data, un-install the app, re-install it, re-configure it for custom notifications and select a different colour - still no go :) As for the colours that i get to select from, Amber, Pink and LightBlue aren't listed on my phone :) I doubt flashing another ROM will help. And yes, i do full wipes before i flash a ROM.
Guest planeth Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I had blue LED on Handcent, until i got an update that said blue LED now supported on Desire... Ever since that update, I haven't been able to get blue LED on my Desire. BTW, I have lots of colors to pick from, in the notification settings in handcent... It's green no matter what I pick though. Wish I could make the blue LED work again, so I can tell the difference between sms and mail, when the screen is off... Also just for the hell of it :)

Now that u mentioned i remember that update.. it was already working on my Desire, so i didn't get it at the time.. I guess it was the other way... LOL Now im using ChompSMS that also supports LED and had no luck either.. I can choose between blue, green, red, orange, magenta and cyan... All i get is a damn green,,, It's just weird that some ppl with this same ROM (R9) have it working... Edited November 4, 2010 by Paulo Nobrega
Guest Calamity James Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 Hmm odd, it works fine on my copy of MCR R8 final: Doesn't flash, but stays on constantly until I read it though. If an email comes through it appears blue and flashes cyan, which I quite like actually!
Guest camdenhandbrake Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 I never had a problem with R8. It was only after updating to the R9 wip that I lost the coloured LED.
