Yet another reason not to trust the almighty Google empire they just love to spy and alow other to do the same.

Unfortunately quite a few ISP are now using Gmail as their mail servers I know my own IPS (Virgin Media) does, good job I also use my own email server for my main messages, nothing worse than someon watching your activity so they can sell the info.

It's no different to any other computer. I think it all depends on how vigilant the user is.

"This is not entirely true. When you install an application, it explicitly warns you in big orange type with something like "THIS APPLICATION CAN DO THINGS THAT MIGHT COST MONEY AND GET AT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION" again thats not the exact quote, but it specifically warns you. So answer to your question, yes it is ok because you agree to it to install the app and if you don't you have clearly avoided all risk."

From the site.

Honestly, what does one expect from ANYTHING that has bears the name Google, or has anything to do with it? Google is all about advertising, and has taken marketing to an entirely new... and INTRUSIVELY... personal level. Meanwhile most people either pretend to be, or are completely oblivious to it.

Of course the bitter part about this is that no one is immune to this. Well, not unless you happen to live in a desert island, a third world country, or are just plain paranoid. But the plain and simple truth is that as long as we need to be instantaneously and continuously connected to the rest of the developed world, then this this sort of intrusion into our habits and lives is the cost we must pay.

Everyone hard wired into a master system.... Sounds like paranoid rubbish, doesn't it?

Well, I do reckon that it's not far from the truth. :(
