Guest Piter1225 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 @Piter: Do you think it's possible to solve camera and graphical bugs? Nothing is impossible, but I'm too unexperienced with Android/Linux to take my hands on it
Guest akira.pwr Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) Nothing is impossible, but I'm too unexperienced with Android/Linux to take my hands on it But maybe you can help Phhusson to do it, if you have time to work on it. Don't you think the latest official bin is too bad? Acer have deleted it from his site. Edited July 15, 2010 by akira.pwr

Acer have deleted it from his site. phh is about 750% more experienced than me, there is nothing I could show him, tanks that we have few Linux developers here, they can bring real progress, not me And the bin is not so bad, I don't like the new installer but overall, nothing super, but also nothing bad at all I just don't understand why they deleted it Edited July 15, 2010 by Piter1225
Guest xian1243 Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 FYI, Froyo source in AOSP = pretty much what FRF91 is... Cyanogen mod wouldn't bring much either... and too much of a hassle. The official .bin IMHO is really good, but there's nothing really we can use in it for Froyo.

Disagree, i love the idea of CM6, it extends funcionallity of Froyo in a big way But without proper vendor tree we can't do anything, sad that behnaam and maxisma are not here anymore, they were experienced in building from source
Guest akira.pwr Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) Sorry, wrong post... Edited July 15, 2010 by akira.pwr

Yes, it would bring much to this.device as a vendor tree was never complete With a vendor complete, building from sourcE would be much easier and development would increase Fyi cm6 is open source and built off aosp Cm6 is the best froyo rom to date Edited July 16, 2010 by alan090

Guest BigWheeelS Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Nice work, phh. I flash back on .05 bin. But I waiting for this fixes (by priority): 1. No graphical issues (lines on screen) 2. Working LEDs 3. Working camera 4. Working vibration Can you make 921Mhz fix? P.S.: Sorry for my bad english
Guest phhusson Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 1. No graphical issues (lines on screen) I'm waiting for AOSP/Codeaurora tries to see where the problem lies. 2. Working LEDs 3. Working camera Annoying closed source stuff. I'll give it another try, with faking some N1 stuff. 4. Working vibration Mwahaha, I didn't even notice it doesn't work ' I put it first on my todo list. Can you make 921Mhz fix? The latest fix is a "any frequency" one. You can set 920MHz in SetCPU. Anyway for people wondering what I'm doing atm, I'm working on Froyo/Sense stuff we can find for N1/Desire, but it doesn't really work as expected.
Guest BigWheeelS Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Mwahaha, I didn't even notice it doesn't work ' I put it first on my todo list. I talking about Capacity keys vibration
Guest akira.pwr Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 I'm a PHHroyo fan, so I'm waiting for news, anyway I noticed PHHroyo/e on top of .39 bin, after 1 day of use, isn't good as .05bin, but maybe the problem it's me, everyone's seems to love .39bin...
Guest xian1243 Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 After flashing a custom ROM all that you're left with from the .bin is the radio, so it's just you.
Guest phhusson Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 After flashing a custom ROM all that you're left with from the .bin is the radio, so it's just you. And data.
Guest xian1243 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 For certain custom ROMs, yes. But a lot of them (including mine) erase DATA on install...

Guest phhusson Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 New update with fixed sound input (meaning voice recognition work)
Guest simoneser Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) New update with fixed sound input (meaning voice recognition work) Great job :D I hope you can fix graphic glitches, they're very annoying  Edited July 20, 2010 by simoneser
Guest phhusson Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Graphical bug fixed :D For the history, I must mention that I hate HTC and Google's people who worked on N1's stuff. Basically, I first tried to use gralloc/copybit (stuff that handles 2D acceleration basically), from N1, which couldn't even make the system boot, so I had to fallback to Eclair's libs. These libs aren't appropriate for Froyo, hence the graphical bugs. Now the fix uses libs built from codeaurora's tree (Qualcomm opensource stuff), as is, no hack to do on it. Just for a little conclusion concerning this, and another recent event (iPhone's antenna): software people should stop doing stuff involved to hardware people. Writing hardware drivers or making an antenna requires special skills, that any company can not get magically. (I hope it won't be a motivation to buy even more hardware companies  )
Guest simoneser Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Wow, you're damn fast! :D Then, i hope that you can (NOT TODAY ) make camera work and capacitive softkeys vibrate. Then it will be FANTASTIC Is proximity sensor working? I have tested without SIM Card and i forgot to check Oh two things i've noticed: some minutes ago i've quickly tried the fix8, and i've noticed that Gallery was forceclosing..i didn't take any log, but it's only to let you check. And I've installed RockPlayer from the market and it played all my videos (i remember that stock video app didn't, because of H264 lack)...does it use other libraries in your opinion? EDIT-Read your Twitter about camera ;) Edited July 20, 2010 by simoneser
Guest phhusson Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) HAHA ! The best thing about this fix is that now H264 hardware decoding works too \o/ PS: I think that H264 and fix of graphic bug is a good milestone for donation  (but test it before donating, just in case I did something wrong.) Edited July 20, 2010 by phhusson
Guest HustlinDaily Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 OMG WOW! YES IT IS MILESTONE WORTHY OF ANOTHER DONATION! Will do it after I get paid this weekend (assuming it tests well for everybody). So what else is left? Camera and haptic feedback on capacitive buttons? That is everything right?
