Guest mmkim Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 In fact, I have it running right now, stop being rude, or are you going to say the guy was lying about his results? I had my phone on standby from 12 to 5pm yesterday on FRF50 because I forgot to bring it with me to work, when I came back the phone ate trough a full charge and would only boot after being plugged in for a minute or two. No weird experiences on FRF91 yet, exept for that the battery usage monitor is still showing unexpected numbers. I'm restoring Eclair tonight, as I'm going on holiday and probably will want to use the camera. I'll Probably play around with Froyo every now and then, long live Nandroid backups hm? sorry about that. I use google translate....my english is very poor. so, I don't know google translate will be translate what!! :(
Guest tmp_do Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 10 hrs and more than 90% batt power in sleep mode. very nice
Guest anzo Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I have a Nokia Bluetooth heandset HW-26 and the pair linked well but just do not hear any noise. :(
Guest xaueious Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Flashed FRF91 for baseband A1-04.01.01 Acer Liquid E Will report results. Battery life would be a priority on this ROM for me. Guest willyaranda Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 As I tweeted to phhuson, just less than 1% of battery drain while totally idle, awesome!! I will use it a little bit now (surfing, installing stuff, adjusting) and report back in a couple of hours. Thanks, thanks, thanks!
Guest xaueious Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) The phone gets really warm with wifi enabled even with screen off. Is this what you meant about wifi suspend? I see this is running off a disc0b2 kernel. This is not actually based on the Liquid E kernel sources then? I'm not sure if this is what's supposed to enable the missing RAM. I dug up the Google highmem stuff. I don't even know if this helps at all. I'll throw it out here anyway: http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=kernel/ex...sm-2.6.32-test1 http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=kernel%2F...t&s=highmem But since you don't have the E, you wont be able to test it... Camera app goes nuts if I try to launch it. As expected. Edited July 25, 2010 by xaueious
Guest natostanco Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 10 hrs and more than 90% batt power in sleep mode. very nice same here, after a night of 8 hours, from 100% to 95%, battery usage: Phone idle 40%, Cell standby 40%
Guest plocri Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) wifi makes the phone warm even on eclair with fr91 it connects to my wifi in about 2 seconds from activating it, with eclair it takes 6-7s I've got the fr91 for everyday usage, but c'mon phhusson, fix the camera, so it'll be PERFECT!!! Guest xaueious Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) Benches at 768MHz Neocore 27.6 fps with sound on wifi makes the phone warm even on eclair with fr91 it connects to my wifi in about 2 seconds from activating it, with eclair it takes 6-7s I've got the fr91 for everyday usage, but c'mon phhusson, fix the camera, so it'll be PERFECT!!! Ya wifi turns on really fast. I want the wifi driver sources for Eclair :( The point is, even when wifi is not transferring any data, it seems to get hot anyway. Maybe I'm imagining it? The ROM is fast enough as it is even with the reduced RAM. How much RAM does your phone report on your phones for the ordinary Acer Liquid? Edited July 25, 2010 by xaueious

How much RAM does your phone report on your phones for the ordinary Acer Liquid? with the fr91 it reports 69mb free when I turn the phone on (eclair 74-75) but i have 74 apps and games on it :( Sometimes it drops to 20, even 13 when I open many apps, but it still remain fast and reactive! I'm going to forget eclair, this build is amazing and when the camera will be fixed i'm going to flash the .09 rom and the fr91 for everyday use XD with linpak I have the same results at 768mhz, I tried also with 998mhz and it was 37-38mflops Edited July 25, 2010 by plocri

How much do you have on stock kernel ? The phone gets really warm with wifi enabled even with screen off. Is this what you meant about wifi suspend? Not really, but I don't know what are the consequences of the failed wifi suspend. I see this is running off a disc0b2 kernel. This is not actually based on the Liquid E kernel sources then? I'm not sure if this is what's supposed to enable the missing RAM. disc0's sources can't have everything working on an Eclair radio .. There is disc0 in the config name, because I don't care about the name I give to the kernel and I used his .config as base. I dug up the Google highmem stuff. I don't even know if this helps at all. I'll throw it out here anyway: You DO have highmem stuff. You wouldn't get past 256MB else
Guest xaueious Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) If I want my own shot at building this kernel, I'm guessing it's this guy? I'll try maybe sometime later http://gitorious.org/~phhusson/liquidproje...hhussons-kernel Do you have some more time to work on this any time soon or is this the way it's going to be for a bit? The problem with theming that I can for see is that we can't change text colors right now via XML. So having a black bar is kind of bad. Reference here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/2735-mo...cation-edition/ Metamorphs should work, but as of right now we need to be able to change the xml files to do more stuff :/ Edited July 25, 2010 by xaueious

I don't really plan on working on tweaks for a long time. ATM I'm still working on correct hardware support, for both FRF91 and AOSP.
Guest xaueious Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) We are supposed to have ~440MB on boot like on LCR and other stock ROMs. Liquid E has double the RAM :( You obviously did some magical things to the kernel, since me repacking the kernel boot.img with one my zImages from liquide kernel didn't work. I was surprised that the static bootscreen loaded though. Edited July 25, 2010 by xaueious

I couldn't adb, and the phone reboot itself soon after showing the logo. The Nexus One had this issue too before they applied a highmem patch of some sort to 2.9.26, and finally Google had their own implementation. I'm going to have to look around for that :/ I have no understanding of this, but quoting what I read on xda: backport of the code in the 2.6.32 kernel that allowed the use of both EBI memory banks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=638976 Edited July 25, 2010 by xaueious

Guest plocri Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I removed voice search, goggles and amazon mp3, just this and on boot I have 69 mb free ram
Guest xaueious Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 (edited) I'll take a look at the code highmem was supposed to affect anyway. Maybe that will give me a hint at least :/ Amazon mp3 is useless. But details details... Just tried JuiceDefender. It crashes the phone o_O Edited July 25, 2010 by xaueious

Guest plocri Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 i've just rebooted it now and I have 74 mb free (advanced task cleaner told me) but I really don't care because, as I said, even with only 20 mb free it's really smooth!!!

Guest koudelka Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 using morelocale from android market you can find some additional languages in this rom that is not shown in settings
Guest Riva(HK) Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 did u downloaded flashplayer again right? I have already download the flash player. but i can't play the video. i can show you the link. http://zoome.jp/jintonic/diary/16
Guest Ayur Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 Hmmm, I have (constant) reboots right after disabling Wifi... I have a log attached, but I guess it's pretty useless :(Wifireboot.txt
