Guest bais Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Phh, Android doesn't kill apps when RAM is needed, because of that I have to use a Task Killer if I don't want to have 15MB of free RAM. Will this bug be fixed in the next release?

Will this bug be fixed in the next release? ??? 1.It's kernel's role, not android 2.Just change lowmemorykiller (there are apps for that on the market AFAIK) settings if that bothers you 3.It shouldn't be a problem having "only" 15MB available
Guest tmp_do Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 for me usually 80-90M free such as 2.1 roms :)
Guest bais Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Well I thought that was a bug, sorry then xD. Anyway using the ROM daily. Even though the Wifi bug can be annoying (sometimes ROM restart when I turn off Wifi which I have to do every time I lock the phone) I can't rollback to Eclair, I enjoy way too much the new Market (Auto Update FTW!) the awesome speed and Flash 10.1. Just a question will you in the future fix the Light o meter and Proximity Sensor? Those are not mandatory but still useful :) . Thanks phh!

I've already tried but without much success :/ And it's kind of low priority for me compared to camera and fast dormancy :D
Guest akira.pwr Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) Do you think is possible to port the Stream lockscreen on froyo? It's really cool with widgets. :) Tonight I'll try the .63 bin with froyo, I hope it will works. Edited August 5, 2010 by akira.pwr

EWONTDO I don't port android interface stuff, that's really not for me :) The only thing I could port from Stream is the video stuff.

Technically, it creates its own lockscreen that allows widgets, then overrides the default lockscreen. It doesn't allow multiple lockscreen "pages" (Steam's lets you have multiple lockscreen pages) and it isn't free (1.99 USD), but if you want a lockscreen with widgets, I guess you can try it. Don't know if it'll work with Phhroyo, though. AppBrain Link
Guest y7038862 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Really?? You are the only one here... :) nop , i am also.
Guest Baspar Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 The only thing I could port from Stream is the video stuff. Perhaps Dolby Mobile too ? :)
Guest phhusson Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Perhaps Dolby Mobile too ? :) I still need to see/hear how useful it is ... I tried it, and it really sucks ...
Guest Rajit Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I still need to see/hear how useful it is ... I tried it, and it really sucks ... Well to each his own... But it soooo doesn't suck!!! its totally awesome.. im sure everyone else here feels the same....
Guest amdnikos Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I still need to see/hear how useful it is ... I tried it, and it really sucks ... You are the only guy with same opinion with me.Dunno why most ppl got crazy with dolby mobile but seriously....IT SUCKS!
Guest Scsiborg Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I have the PSX emulator on my Liquid, the audio is quite scratchy - i assume the dolby mobile would improve upon this.
Guest Rajit Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) You are the only guy with same opinion with me.Dunno why most ppl got crazy with dolby mobile but seriously....IT SUCKS! Ok, I'm a semi professioinal musician... I've played and worked with some VERY talented people and recorded at some very nice studios... so, when it comes to audio quality, i can say that i do have some sense... the default audio in liquid (or phhroyo or android in general (at least all the devices ive heard)) is very shallow... it seriously lacks depth and warmth and the detail resolution is totally pathetic!!!! bass sounds like someones playing drums at the end of a mile long cave... i have listened to some of the best audio systems on the planet, and although liquid even with dolby might not even be nearly as impressive as a decent player, its a BIG improvement over the default audio.... BUT, everyone has their own opinion and i respect that... just tell me this, do you prefer the default audio over dolby?? Edited August 5, 2010 by Rajit

At some time we've talked about dolby mobile a lot on the IRC channel with vache, xian, and some others, most people agree that dolby sounds better .... But with loss ! The sound doesn't sound like original sound AT ALL. Also I can barely hear the difference between my desktop's sound (an integrated AD1989B, good sound card, still an integrated one.) and my liquid's sound, while it's easy to compare dolby vs my computer's sound ... You speak about "detail resolution", it's when dolby is on that it's pathetic, it just hides any details of the sound ... Dolby stuff uses some psycho algorithm, and it's true it "sounds" better, but it's really not if you take good care of the details you hear ... On a side note, I also think that the liquid lacks a bit of bass, that's why I planned to do an equalizer.

This is strange... for me, detail resolution becomes better when dolby is on... atleast in my case, i am better able to appreciate the seperate instrument sounds with dolby on. You could say that it adds more sparkle to the sound (the warm cozy kind, not the sharp blinding or rather deafening kind). I won't just say it for the sake of saying it. Also, just introducing bass is not the solution.. take for example 1.8, which has much better sound than default liquid, but its still pretty narrow... the equalizer would be a nice solution if it focuses on other aspects of the sound as well... u have our best wishes! keep up the good work! Edit: And yeah i have a xonar essence stx paired with audioengine 5 (i know they're not top of the line, but i find them suitable for a desktop), and to be honest, sound with or without dolby when compared to the desktop is pathetic! :) but with dolby, its a tad bit better than without dolby... Guest xaueious Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) The dolby does work. Maybe it has to do with it being tuned for the platform. I could care less about what it is called, but I like that audio filter over the stock. Edited August 5, 2010 by xaueious
Guest akira.pwr Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 nop , i am also. Obviously I was joking........... everyone's waiting for camera fix.
Guest Baspar Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I still need to see/hear how useful it is ... I tried it, and it really sucks ... Well.. Some people like, other do not... But an equalizer is an other solution.. Perhaps better :) But it's YOUR rom, YOUR job, YOUR choices :D So do it as you want :P ( By "your", I say the team of course :D )
Guest Quipeace Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 In my opinion there are far more important things to get sorted out, before working on new features.
