Now that Dell are selling the Streak on their website it is no longer exclusive to O2 so I have contacted them to day after an unlock code. We will see what they have to say :)

Oh, that does not sound very promising. :)

I too have had my Streak for more than 14 days, if they tell me I can take it back to the store I will be there in 30 mins and buying an unlocked one from Dell.

Ok, so:

1. Get an unlocked 2G phone (a 3G phone with 3G turned of is ok)

2. Put your own sim card in this phone (without the Rebel Sim)

3. Try to connect to a network other than the one your sim is for (It will refuse to connect but this is to be expected. This apparently blanks out the validation keys on your sim.)

4. Now connect to the correct network for your sim

5. Now make a phone call (The call does not need to be answered)

6. Send a text

7. Browse the web (Apparently doing all this causes your phone to validate your sim with the network in question and the keys are stored to the sim)

8. BEFORE you now transfer your sim card from this device to your Streak, make sure the Streak is in '2G only' mode

9. Now put the network sim in your Dell along with the Rebel Sim.

10.Keep the Streak in 2G only mode.

Ok quick question....yes i am a noob at this but how do I put the streak in 2g mode? I have been having a hell of a time getting my streak to work in Canada on the rogers wireless network... any and all help would be sooo much appreciated!

Choose gsm only in settings/wireless/mobile network/network mode .

(names can be different, I'm using italian as Main language ) :) :D

sorry to hear your having problems with the Dell Streak unlock with V1.1 firmware of Rebel sim II.

we have now a newer updated firmware for unlocking at this link here

The new updated firmware has 3G enhanced now and can work V1.2

you can also see a video done here by a customer who updated to

on his HTC Desire phone and we will have a new video for the Dell uploaded soon
