Guest Riekr Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) i have many unstabilities with kernel-update-920-lcr1.7-ramzswap+TSfix+SVS-2.zip - some times the phone doesn't reboot (keeps rebooting) - when a phone call arrives it stops responding i'm going back to 880mhz kernel, anyway.. what are TS fix and SVS? PS: even 880mhz kernel now leads to reboot loop.... original kernel is ok.. is there a way to have non overclocked kernel with the other features? Edited June 29, 2010 by Riekr
Guest MrVanes Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Is it too much asked for an LCR 1.6 OC'd kernel (920 pref, so I can decide in setCPU if needed) with ramzswap? Please...

Guest Riekr Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) as a quick work around i removed battery for a while (5-10min) to let the device cool down (even it it was not so hot anyway removing for less time didn't work) and after that i was able too boot 880mhz again. now i'm going to stick with 880 for a while to see what happens. edit: it's only a matter of time and usage for me, even with 880mhz oc it restarts itself and starts to loop. a non oc'ed version would be very appreciated (at least to see if it's only oc the problem) Edited June 29, 2010 by Riekr
Guest Swallow74 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) In RAM. That's why it's called RAMzswap. Is active also in the LCR 1.6 version? Edit: i anwser myself: is not active. Please, can you add ramzswap in the rom for LCR 1.6? Thank you in advance! Edit2: roms for LCR 1.7 works well also for LCR 1.6, included 920Mhz+ramzswap  Edited June 29, 2010 by Swallow74
Guest uzirox Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Can we have this modified kernel for the old 1.100.05 bin? TIA.
Guest bahamut54321 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) I've installed the 920mhz kernel with the ramzswap and everything. I had two surprise reboots when using it. The second time, when it had booted my widgets didn't work. I had to reboot it (again) to get them to work. Just letting you know ^^ I'm going back to original 920 kernel. Gonna tell you tomorrow if i have the same bugs. Edited June 29, 2010 by bahamut54321
Guest vanahaim Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 to phhusson: Hi, I found gps precision bug after flashing of 998MHz-1.3V-kernel on 1.100.15 bin with Piters mod.
Guest Swallow74 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 I found a really strange thing. I tried two type of swap: on SD and on RAM (ramzswap). In both cases the system uses max 8-9 MB di swap (i looked this with "free" command), even when i load tons of heavy applications (Google Earth, CoPilot, browsers etc.). I tried to modify swappiness parameter, but nothing is changed: swap file remain widely unused. Someone can verify this behaviour?
Guest liquid_it Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) Someone can verify this behaviour? This is how my device memory looks like with ramzswap on. There are some apps open (widgets, HTC_IME mod, twitter..), just a typical load. total used free shared buffers Mem: 190120 184460 5660 0 436 Swap: 47520 31392 16128 Total: 237640 215852 21788 About 66% of swap is used. The unused part, btw, won't eat device ram, because is compressed, so it virtually weights 0KB.. Edited June 30, 2010 by liquid_it
Guest bahamut54321 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 I had another little bug. I tried to set a profile with setCPU tu save battery whan the phone is asleep. But when I did, the max. freq went bakc to 758mhz. I had to reboot to set it back to 921mhz.

Guest gengaro86 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 (edited) The app for Wifi Tethering is ready. Have to fix some graphical glitches (GUI is terribly UGLY ) but it's working like a charm. I'll release it later today, I've worked hard on it last night. (now I've to go to work :D) (Yeah, it works! I'm browsing the web and doing my stuff using my Liquid as a wireless router, while working \o/) Edited June 30, 2010 by gengaro86

Obviously, but I'd like to clean up the code before. Anyway, the full working APK is going to be released this evening =)

Guest gengaro86 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Will you put it on the Market too? Yep, but I need some days of betatesting here inside MoDaCo
Guest Piter1225 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Yep, but I need some days of betatesting here inside MoDaCo :D Great, will test it for sure
Guest gengaro86 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Definetly working and ready. Unfortunately, I've lost connection to my home server (where the app and all the others development tools are) and I'm at work now. Hope to restore connection soon and upload the first beta APK in a separate thread. There are still some glitches I'll solve next week, for now I'm quite happy =) (Here's a screenshot for you, uploaded using the Liquid as a router, gnegne )
Guest liquid_it Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Definetly working and ready. Great job! I bet connection configuration is still made by hand, isn't it? I hope I can help you to build an user interface to configure wifi params, for a future release.. BTW, once more, great job!
Guest bahamut54321 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Guy ? What could possibly setcpu do to save battery when the phone is asleep?!? I meant when the screen is off. minimum freq foir when i am not using the phone

BTW, once more, great job! Yep, configuration is still handmade but I was already writing a config panel which will be included next week. As for now, you still have to wait this evening because my home server died for an unkown reason and I can't access it right now.. :/
Guest phhusson Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 I meant when the screen is off. minimum freq foir when i am not using the phone Minimum freq is the same, either the screen is on or off, and it's 260MHz ~. Of course you can downclock to 128MHz (or even 19.2MHz), but according to qualcomm it's everything but a good idea. That's why it's not the default setting.
