Yes, I use it too... And it's great driver/soft... ^^

I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY with this program and this one also fix the GPS LAG in Omnia 2. Also it combine all the sensor to the GPS, that's what I love from this program... ^^

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

About 30secs to 1min in clear sky.... ^^

anyone can explain how to use it after installing some cabs?

Just install and configure the settings according to your need (as explained in GPSModFix thread in xda-devs), also install QueStub if you use Garmin, then it just work like install-and-forget program. Just to make sure, you will redirect all of your GPS port in the GPS program to GPSMod port (default comm:2) except Garmin (it will be redirected automatically by QueStub)...

Happy trying... ^^

I am getting confuse now, i have ome questions below...

1. What are the benefits to install QueStub_310.CAB onto your device? when we install it, where shall be we install it to "device" or "storage"? i have garmin Mobile XT running in the phone set.

2. I have installed GpsModDriver_310.CAB, it is taking about 60 seconds ++ to look up the gps position, is it fast enough? if the GpsModDriver_310.CAB driver is running reliably in your phone set, is it a necessary to install QueStub_310.CAB onto the phone?

3. My i8000 phone GPS program port is running Com7, Hardware port is running Com9, Baud rate is 4800, after i have installed GpsModDriver_310.CAB, it said GpsModDriver is using Com2, is it fine with this setting?

4. I have configured the Garmin Mobile XT, and selected and enabled GpsModDriver, it was resulted as com7:com7, has it any step that i have miss out?

Please advice, many thanks.

Depends on where you install your Garmin program...

1. No benefit, it simply force Garmin to use the GPSMod Port (as it should be). Garmin got a bug where it can't select the port manually. And you got to install this QueStub depends on where you install your Garmin program...

2. On clear sky usually 30 to 60 secs (XTRA enabled). Baud rate 4800. And for QueStub, it only necessary if you use Garmin. It's for Garmin only...

3. Yes. the GPSMod Driver is simply the driver that "sits" between original driver and GPS program.. It acts as intermediate driver. It add many feature such as compass, G sensor, cell tower positioning. You should set all of your GPS program and programs that utilizing GPS to COMM:2. This is a MUST..

4. That's why we need QueStub to hack the Garmin... As it's known Garmin bug.

You're welcome....

I don't know which actually the garmin is installed, when i found i have two garmin folder installed into my i8000, but whereby i have all my map is installed onto the storage, see attached.

Since my i8000 gps setting program port is running on com7, and gpsmoddriver is using com2, do i need to change that?

My current garmin configuration, i have took up gpsmoddriver in garmin, after selected and enabled, it then changed to com7:com7, why? is it normal?

Many thanks thanks thanks.

The first Garmin folder one in the root (not My Storage or Storage Card) is only the error log folder that Garmin created.... Please delete any maps file and any exe file or any files that you manually copy to those folder.

The actual Garmin program folder is in the Storage card or My Storage (depends on where you install it...). Put the map file in it, not the one that contain many .NVM files inside.

Nah nah, I'll re-explain with diagrams...

The GPSModDriver is a driver that acts like this:

Omnia's GPS COMM7 -> GPSModDriver COMM2 -> GPS program (like Garmin)

The original one (direct) without GPSModDriver is like this:

Omnia's GPS COMM7 -> GPS program (like Garmin)

But if you're using your GPS directly without GPSModDriver, the GPS program will never take advantage of compass, G-sensor, cell tower positioning. Thus will slow down GPS lock on sats.

But, in order for Garmin to work the GPSModDriver way explained above, you need to install QueStub in My Storage / Storage Card (depends on where you install Garmin), not in the Device.

And QueStub will automatically select the Garmin's port for you... Never disable or modify the port inside Garmin or it will revert back to COMM7, this is Garmin's bug...

Good luck... ^^
