Guest jebise Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) Everything was smooth and normal no issues what so ever, last night i hooked my O2 to the PC to update my music like i normally do no big deal. Opened s2p 1.0 and let it refresh the library took a bit but it finished. Woke up in the morning got on the train went to the music tab on htc sense by accident and noticed songs never loaded, didn't think much of it and went back to the home screen and opened s2p and it would just not load got the circle. It took forever the very first time as well so didn't think much of it and waited about 15 minutes and nothing so i soft reset and bam s2p loaded but my storage was gone. Dose not show in explorer or anything. This is for sure s2p fault as it refreshed the library fairly quickly yesterday (but the new music played with no issue yesterday) and took its time in the morning and i should not have turned the phone o$ff and this very well could be the reason why i lost it. Now the question how can i get it back? i tried nustoftware manager or whatever it called and it dose not see my storage partation or the drive. I have tried a hard reset and nothing the only thing i did not try was flashing a MST file. I also checked in the samsung settings and clicked reset and it said storage unavailable. Searched the forum and saw that this must go to a service center to get fixed and i really don't want to lose my phone for a week or two. Hoping someone knows a way to get it back? I just think i need to somehow get to the drive and format it but the question is how do we do it if the OS dose not see it? I don't think its a hardware issue as it was working fine yesterday and just messed as i was opening s2p, phone and storage where fine before i opened s2p. I really find s2p 1..0 very slow and buggy compaired to 0.83. P.S if i must send it back should i flash the orgioanl FW back on it? and any bell Canada customers can you give me some feedback if they where helpful or anything? or do they force you to go to samsung? Guest Lancez Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 here is what i have read and it was proved working from kingmobi. the only thing you can try is to format your storage to FAT. see if it works.
Guest jebise Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 trying to connect it to mass storage and the PC dose detect it and trys to install drivers but fails, i have windows 7 both x64/x32 if someone can give e drivers please.

Guest jebise Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 i tried a few available here that are used with octans but they where no good, if you have them please post i want to try anything.

Guest hsuchitmp Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 i also did what you have done up there when i lost my storage for the second time. and the only way to fix this is to send it back to samsung. they'll replace the chip for my storage only. nothing more. i even have twu2 6.5.x ultra lite rom installed in my phone that time coz i cant flash back to default as my storage is need to do that. i thought the warranty was void. i just made sure i installed all separate cabs to make it look like a factory default winmo 6.5. samsung technician here are stupid. hehehe they dont know if the phone was tampered or not. what i did was make them check that my storage is really dead and they will order the chip for you, now instead of leaving your phone to them you can ask them to contact you until the chip arrives. the period of ordering the chip takes the two weeks of it. but if the chip is already there you can go back to samsung in the morning and in the afternoon you can take back your phone with everything thesame. except my storage is there. hope this helps
Guest jebise Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) yeah it tottaly mess but the thing i i never used it as a mass storage before and like any usb it need drivers which it not doing. I talked with bell they said since it in warranty they would send it to samsung but the problem is they said 2-3 weeks before i get it back and no loner phone either. trying to install a MST file and it dose not even start Edited June 29, 2010 by jebise
Guest hsuchitmp Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 i hated samsung for this. you have 16gb? thats just the problem, the hardware fails instantly just like that. one morning i was using my phone fine and at lunch time some programs (installed in my storage) wasnt running anymore. after softreset i discovered my storage was gone. you cant install mst file. i even extract the nb0 of the original rom (stock rom) and still i cant flash my phone back to it. the good thing is here i can was able to use the phone until the chip arrived and it just took a few hours to install the chip. i read somewhere in this forum that in their country after the 3rd time that a unit fail with the same problem they refund you 100%. does this apply in your country? maybe after that you can buy i9000 galaxy
Guest CrescendoFire Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Why it's always the 16Gb version? How about the 8Gb version? Any news?
Guest monyozt Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Why it's always the 16Gb version? How about the 8Gb version? Any news? some of my friends (3 8gb user) face same problem.. missing internal storage...
Guest jebise Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) No in Canada its a pain, you can't go to Samsung directly i called them up and they said your warranty only applies if you go back to your service provider. I talked to Bell Canada and the guy said sure we can send it in for repair but your going to lose the phone for 3 weeks and yes i have the 16GB version, i asked him i use it for work and will need a phone he said we can give you a loner at a cost. I might try to make them give me a HTC Legend, as i bought the omnia 2 for the 16GB and AMOLED screen only thing that sucks about the legend is the screen res 320x480  Maybe i can just get bell to give me a 16GB micoSD card. It dose look like a hardware failure, connected the storage card as USB mass Storage and it worked right away tried my storage and the PC finds it and tries to load drivers but fails tried to force different drivers and get an error saying failure to start device (code 10) Edited June 29, 2010 by jebise

Guest jebise Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 dont think so its always been the same music that has always been there i always format the storage after a flash and this time was no different.
Guest redzone321 Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 dont think so its always been the same music that has always been there i always format the storage after a flash and this time was no different. i say take the loaner phone and be withotu it for 2-3 weeks. not the end of the world and samsung should fix it. if you have any dust under yoru screen you shoudl have them fix that too. I am also with bell and am about ready to return it for service due to the dust under the screen. its getting unbarable.
Guest jebise Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) i have bare to none under the screen which is good, but it has always been in a hard plastic case which could have prevented it. Yeah i will have to send it in might go tonight but i really hate the service they have here. I like rogers phone protection plan where if it breaks they give you a new one, my w810i broke with the WSOD within 2 days of use and rogers gave me a new one and it got stolen . Bell needs to learn how to treat there customers better losing the phone for 3 weeks is a long time 1 week sure but thats to much so a small little problem. Going to try and convince the bell rep to swap it for a HTC Legend first see if i can get that, they probably will not since it been only 6 months into my 3 year contract. Only down side to the legend is the screen resolution and no internal memory which might not be so bad if i get a 16GB card Edited June 29, 2010 by jebise
Guest Phams0 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Hey guys I was just wondering what happened to the data when you get your O2 back from the service centre? Is everything still there? or do you lose everything? The reason I asked is I have a lot of pictures on my storage card I would really like to get them back. Thanks
Guest jebise Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 nah i think they are gone, always always backup the phone you can't trust it. Stupid bell is taking it for repairs but going to take 3-6 weeks for it. Giving me a loner free of charge or so they say called customer service and was told i will get charged for the loner even though tech support said i will not. Man this sucks and its only been 6 months in my contract and i have to deal with this. would you guys recommend i flash back to stock and sen it in?
Guest CrescendoFire Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 some of my friends (3 8gb user) face same problem.. missing internal storage... Hmmm... strange.... Mine is 8Gb and I feel scary about this gonna happen to me sometime... >,<

Man this sucks and its only been 6 months in my contract and i have to deal with this. would you guys recommend i flash back to stock and sen it in? I'm considering going to a data recovery place especially if its all the data is gone from My Storage when it returns from the service centre. I have lots of pictures from the last 6 months. I hope that the data recovery service is not too expensive. The problem is I think the warranty will be void if I do that. Any suggestions guys? thanks Tom
Guest SRgustavo Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 hey it happened to me, do everything that is said in this post and everythigs it' gonna be ok http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...-i-got-it-back/
