Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Anyone tried this Flash build on the Streak? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695965 P Seems its only for HTC devices as they already have flash lite installed. Will read through the 25 pages and see if it can be used... Also failed to update again, missed the error message...
Guest rovex Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Dell fixed the original root exploit I used in 4399! P Did they? Im rooted with 4399.
Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Yeah, but you're running the 3883 kernel which could be different. It's OK tho, I have another way, proper 4399 superboot coming soon. P
Guest rovex Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Didnt realise the 4399 kernel was a separate download. Is it any better?
Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 That was strange... i was refreshing the other topic and posts kept disappearing. the more i refresh the more they disappear.. has anyone who's been successful upgrading to 43XX tried updating to 49XX?
Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Split 4399 discussion to it's own topic. Need to difference the images to see if the kernel has changed, doing that now! P PS The update DID wipe my device, non-wipe repack coming soon...
Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 PS The update DID wipe my device, non-wipe repack coming soon... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Update in progress oh well, i guess im gonna have to reinstall everything...
Guest Rhysd2 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 A small point i didnt think about but they do have the desire... Cant be for the desire either. HTC have stated their devices will be getting it later in the year. Q3 or something like that So is this now on the actual dell site if I go and ask my phone to update? And do we actually know what 4399 does yet?
Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Anyone have the custom recovery image running with 4399? P
Guest rovex Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Update in progress oh well, i guess im gonna have to reinstall everything... It didnt wipe my phone. Its odd, some peopke are getting wiped, others not, some cant install, some can

Guest Rhysd2 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Q3 starts tomorrow.. *facepalm* yes it does lol. I'd be surprised if they had it ready that quick though as HTC seem very slow on their updates.
Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 UPDATE REPORT : From :3889 To : 4399 Status : Successful After initial update screen a reboot occurred with a 2nd update, the following text was on the screen : DT: A3.702 BUILD DATE MAY 19 2010 13:49:07 Then another reboot with : Restoring(might have been reverting) to factory setting. Final reboot with long boot time and its back up and running Method used : Place file on sdcard, rename to update.pkg, switch off device, switch back on while holding both volume buttons, when menue appears use volume buttons to navigate and camera button to select.
Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Note 'Update.pkg' is case sensitive, you need the upper case U. P
Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Note 'Update.pkg' is case sensitive, you need the upper case U. P it worked with a lowercase u. what it didnt like was that i had a file called update2.pkg (49XX build) on the sd card. After renaming update2 it was ok again. Forgot to switch on wifi for data and have just used about 20mb while abroad... Roaming charges are a pain...
Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Ah, right, clearly more than one pkg file is the problem! P
Guest Paul Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Hmmm, flashing the custom recovery seems to be having issues for me, getting a black screen...! P
Guest the_didge Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Ah, right, clearly more than one pkg file is the problem! P Its ok with 2, but will only allow one that starts with "update" otherwise throws out the same error as a missing file. it was perfectly happy with updgfhfghate2.pkg
Guest SgtDavePwnage Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Hmmm, flashing the custom recovery seems to be having issues for me, getting a black screen...! P You are using the correct file? Remember that the original file uploaded was the wrong one
