Streak 4399 update (still Android 1.6) now available

downloaded mine(4399) straight to me phone with the links off here and phone didn't reset , kept all my stuff as it was. but I'm not rooted yet as no custom roms so can't see the point :lol:

Thats the same as the _31 update (49XX). tried to use that after updating to _21 (43XX). Gave FOTA error before and after upgrading to _21 (43XX)

Im still confused by this superboot thing. Why did the old root work for me with 4399 and if i still have the old kernel, why do i still have the old kernel? :lol:

Superboot is a boot image, which includes a kernel. It works, but you're running the 3883 kernel basically.

Upload a non wipe update zip repack of 4399 now... It DOESN'T flash the baseband tho, can anyone confirm the before and after baseband for this update?

I dont think it changed. What id really like is an UV/OC kernel. My desire runs 24/7 at 1.267ghz, id hope the streak is capable of the same.

Cheers - I'll have a go at this tonight. To be honest I'm pretty happy with it as it is, aside from the No Service problem (which seems to have died down, or is it just me?) and the alarm crashing.

The more I think about it the more i'm wondering is this the difference between O2 models (x21) and Dell direct models? I assume that O2 has some small carrier requirements for their ROM and thats the reason they're a few revisions behind?

Depends, I suspect that we'll get code for the basic hardware (enough to get it booted on the Streak), but no source will be released for the GPS/GSM chipset and some other bits.

aside from the No Service problem (which seems to have died down, or is it just me?)

Still suffering quietly with the No Service problem (and the battery draining it causes), just waiting for O2 to acknowledge/fix it or a sim unlock so I can ditch them!

I've been trying to install 4399, renamed it to Update.pkg, reboot whilst holding the volume controls and chose software update via Update.pkg, but it just jumps to the ClockWorkMod recovery screen with an error E:Can't find MISC: - what am I missing?
