Streak 4399 update (still Android 1.6) now available

i want to update my device but it say already up to date have the old build no root so how can we update? is there another way or do we have to wait?

Read the stickies up top, there are a few new roms, but they are all seemingly identical for the most part.

Ok updated to 4399 and have noticed the following changes;

The more I think about it the more i'm wondering is this the difference between O2 models (x21) and Dell direct models? I assume that O2 has some small carrier requirements for their ROM and thats the reason they're a few revisions behind?

Mine is neither....it is;

Baseband & OEM Version; GAUSB1A110100

Build 3562

It is an AT&T version US model.

Is this why I am having trouble with loading the recovery images?

I'm also seeing 3562 on the link page... wonder if the site is displaying different links based on IP. That would be irritating :P Nothing a proxy can't solve though.

I tried the root but it screwed up my phone and am trying to find the 6601 recovery image. The latest one dells site shows in 4917 so I am going to try that.

Dont use the root stickied up top. It is not for that build... Not sure if that is what you did or not. The universal androot method over @ XDA seems to work great for all versions that people have had. Again though, use at your own risk.

I was looking if I could find a ROM for the Euro Dell streak ( the Unlocked UK model) Model number ending in 00.

I have to return my phone, the camera has a hardware issue and I need some way to go back to the stock ROM....
