Guest rookey Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Hi, I've rooted my HTC Legend and installed a bunch of apps, but now I can't install new apps anymore, getting the above message. However, MiniInfo reports 55 MB free disk space and 836 MB SD Card space which I would think should be enough?! On the web I found the info that if during rooting something had gone wrong, it might help to clear the so-called 'davik cache' but also, and especially, the download cache. How can I do that without having to reinstall everything? Thanks a lot for any help, r.

Guest rookey Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Which ROM are you using? If MCR r2, it's broken and this is a known problem. good question actually! In "Settings" / "Software", I see "MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Legend r2" .... So I applied the "Recovery mode for future updates" as described in the r4 thread (using recovery-windows.bat from my notebook c:\r4-legend\root directory where I extracted r4-legend-root.zip b4), but after all the updating and resetting some options on my Legend, it still displays "r2" as the Software number! Seems I did something wrong here... and of course the "Insufficient storage" error message is still there when I try to install new apps. By the way, I'm using my Gold Card in the phone since I forgot to replace/wipe it as described in the howto. Should I restart everything from this step (of course I would lose everything I currently have on the phone I guess :D ) Or is there a way without it....? thanks, r. Edited July 1, 2010 by rookey
Guest Ravrahn Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 An update.zip for the R2 MCR will flash the R2 MCR, so when you go to recovery to flash a ROM, don't flash the MCR update.zip. There's a fair few here, try another one. When in recovery mode, press Toggle USB-MS to toggle the microSD card. Put the new ROM in the root of your SD card, and turn it off. Then flash the new ROM in the "apply zip from SD card" menu (make sure you select the one you downloaded). AFAIK the Goldcard needed to be kept in when rooting (I didn't successfully root until I kept it in). But it isn't required in ROM flashing, so you might as well try without it.
Guest theintelligent Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 Use the newer 2.03 ROMs they don't have this problem.

Thanks - I have 're-routed' with r4 yesterday and so far no problems, except that I can't install Titanium Backup, BusyBox etc. - described here: http://android.modaco.com/content/absolute...d-successfully/ Seems there is still some problem, I just don't understand why. thanks, r.
