Guest snapz54 Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 ^^ *naked dance* can each of the cooks please post your zip codes? I want to call your local fire departments and tell then to be aware that you guys are on fire (also to warn them that you guys will be naked and dancing if they bust in to rescue you)
Guest the sandman Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 that is so awesome i was just thinking that slide2shutdown should be the long press end key! is there anything you guys CANT do? seriously? looking forward to the release =D
Guest Omega Ra Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 it is awesome that you guys are cracking the dlls and making this phone work like it should.
Guest amdzero Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 :::for reference the "power button" that I will refer to is when you press and hold the end call button::: Okay, so another thing that samsung did that I really dont' like. They are using a proprietary dll function call to enable/disable the power button. I haven't figured out how to bypass this and this is a major hurdle when I comes to "remapping" the power button. So I can remap the power button (hold end key) to launch slide2shutdown instead of the standard shutdown dialog, but there is one problem. It disables the power button. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if you really wanted to restart or turn off your phone. But if you hit cancel or exit out of the slide2shutdown program then the power button no long functions. The bad thing about using proprietary dll fucntion calls, is that the standard windows api is not able to turn the phone off. I have tried many calls using windows mobile power management and all I can do is put the phone in suspend mode (just turn screen off) and restart the device. What this boils down to is if we remap the power button, you will NOT be able to TURN OFF your phone. The proprietary function call is another reason why slide2shutdown does not turn the phone off (shutdown).
Guest Steel Reign Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 is there any solution? Not yet, but we are working on it.
Guest Dork6243 Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 to the chefs: your hard work in optimizing our phones is much appreciated
Guest Robtao Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Is it possible that what you are learning will also help allow more flexible use of the "Lock" and "Camera" buttons? I would like to be able to use those with AEButton Plus, but havn't had any luck.

So if a long end key press brings up the shutdown dialogue box, ( YES OR NO ) , does the YES button give the ok to kill the power?
Guest amdzero Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 So if a long end key press brings up the shutdown dialogue box, ( YES OR NO ) , does the YES button give the ok to kill the power? The YES button posts an OEM shutdown message for windows. This initiates closing of all networks and displays the poweroff.gif The problem lies in finding the OEM parameter. I've tried to dissect the .dll that handles it, but I'm at a loss. I REALLY don't have a clue about opening dll/exe files for function execution.
Guest Dork6243 Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 which one is it? I might know someone who can help
Guest amdzero Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 which one is it? I might know someone who can help The call is in powerbutton.dll, but makes the call to cameramsgbox.exe Cameramsgbox.exe is where the shutdown yes/no messagebox is located.
