Guest Azurren Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Have you tried installing the latest 2.1 firmware? No I'm still on.. Well, she's still on 1.5 I was thinking about downloading it but it seems you have to download a certain build to be able to use custom roms etc. So I'll leave it for now. Speed is still excellent on 1.5

Guest Melril Posted July 10, 2010 Report Posted July 10, 2010 A very quick intervention here - while I don't own a Spica, my colleague and changed phones at about the same time : I picked an u8230 and he picked a Spica. I helped him find his way around with it some and did some tweaking for him, and in the meantime he toyed around with my Huawei. Verdict - when comparing the u8230 with his Spica, he was very disappointed with his device and ended up going back for a few weeks to his SGH-U600. Not very objective advice, just someone's 2 cents !

I guess if you don't know much the Pulse (Or U8230) looks bigger and better :) But in reality the Spica is a lot better (My mothers if red and black.. God if the Pulse wasn't so ugly I would have that beast right now :D)
Guest Bakes Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Do any of you have any experience of the Samsung Galaxy Portal (spica) i5700 as I've been offered the following great deal from T-mobile? Samsung Galaxy Portal 100 mins 100 txts Unlimited Internet Free bolt on (unlimited txts or Landline minutes) All for £7.50pm for 24 months (Total £180) You should definitely get it. I've spent today playing around with my mate's Galaxy Portal. Loads of garbage loads up at the start (which I'm sure would be fixed by a good rooting) but the phone itself is far snappier than the Pulse - my Pulse is slow and laggy, his is crisp, fast, smooth etc. At £30 more than a pulse PAYG, I'd get the Portal every day of the year.
