Androit Market frustration

Hi All,

I've had my Galaxy S for 2 days now and although I love it, the market is driving me mad. When trying to download something it sits there on "Starting download" for AGES. It happened on the original ROM and it's happening on Paul's R2 ROM so it's not a issue with that.

Does anyone have any fixes ?

Did you try running Paul's scripts included in the Rom? My market is actually dowloading faster than with JFB and R1.

I'll try that.

Oh and one more thing...the wifi ! What's up with it ? It drops out constantly.

I'm not having any issues with wifi... (check your router?) I am however having an issue with the 3G and 2G, i'm trying to determine if it's just today that AT&T is having problems or if it's an issue with the new firmware and rom.

Try launching GTalk and login. Then go back to Market app.

I'm also having the same market problem "Starting download..." on every app I try to download. Only *2767*3855# factory reset helps solve the issue. After that I can install about 10 apps while the sync is done. After sync is done the game is over. I cannot download any app again. All stuck @ "Starting download...".

I tried all following roms (using odin) including MoDaCo custom rom "r1-update-galaxys-modacocustomcustomrom-signed".

I9000XWJG1

I9000DXJE7

I9000XXJE3

I9000XXJE2

I9000XXJF5

I9000DXJF4

This is a long standing problem with android market guys. See this link. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Andr...77b50&hl=en

If anyone found a fix other than hard resetting the phone please let me know.

Personally I had to disable N standard on my router for my galaxy s to connect constantly.

I'm also having this issue, but it seems to me that it's more router-related. It's only happening when connected at work, not when I'm home. And if I disable the WIFI and let it connect through 3G, the download starts right away....

So...I guess it might be something to do with wifi-router tweaking...?

(what's more annoying for me, is that I can't find my paid app Doodle Jump anymore...not even when running Market Enabler (no paid apps in Norway:()

and yes...I've tried the modaco-scripts in R2...

It's definitely wifi-router related problem. Market is working fine with my home router (Dlink dir-615), but at work a more limited guest wifi network won't let me download programs from market.
