Guest drcarlos Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 The firmware I used was from here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...t-kingmobi-net/ The reason I used it was because it was listed as an official firmware from Samsung, well it is but it has Orange branding and settings in it, not the end of the world usually. Phone is working well for the most part, but the accuweather widget I use quite a lot connects to the web for it's information and it is insisting on using the Orange world connection, this wouldn't be a problem but I am on T-mobile so it just generates a connection error. Going into the manage connections nothing is listed but in GPRS authentications all the available connections are but you can't remove any. What I need to do is either set accuweather to use t-mobile web'n'walk or delete the erroneous connections. Oh and Opera and the email client use the Tmob connection just like they should. Googling is not use so is there anyone here that has had the same problem. Carl.
Guest Lancez Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 you have flashed wrong CSC, try to flash appropriate CSC and problem will be gone.
Guest drcarlos Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Hi, OK if I understand the CSC is the portion of the ROM that defines the network customisable settings and branding. Thing is though the i8000 is not an official T-mob phone here in the UK, I had an unbranded un-operator molested handset so I guess what I need is an unbranded CSC for 6.5.3. Thing is despite the fiddling around with phones and the long winmo history this is the first time I have flashed a handset so I am a bit of a newbie. Can you point me in the direction of the correct CSC please????? Cheers, Carl.
Guest Lancez Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) no worries, everybody was newbie once :) based on your info T-mo UK, right? if so, flash your phone again. do take note, at MultiCSC tab please select I8000XEUJE5 (scroll all the way down, and u'll see) then make sure the language is set to english UK. after u done flashing, u get to choose whatever the service providers they have in UK, and T-mobile UK is one of them. the phone will automatically setup internet connection for ya as well as MMS-SMS. Guest drcarlos Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks Lancez wasn't offered any options to chosse language at boot up but it just went ahead and configured English correctly. It's not just a bit of fine tuning and were there. I was reasonable happy with 6.5 and the way the phone worked and I tend to just want to use the device once I have it set up in the way I want it rather than keep fiddling. 6.5.3 looks good though but it's going to take few days to unlearn 6.5 and Touchwiz 2.0. Carl.
