Galaxy S Variants

I'm considering buying the T-Mo Galaxy S when it's released in a few weeks but wanted to be sure of something first.

Are the variants all basically the same when it comes to rooting and installing a custom ROM like MCR? Is the difference between them all mostly cosmetic, like camera flash, etc?

I'd hate to buy it and find out that the T-Mo version is not compatible.
