Guest Stockholm Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Thank you for the videos. I'm trying to do exactly as you showed. I got com 20 on the Odin Software and it says File analysis. The phone says downloading but nothing happens.... Any suggestions please. I got a Swedish unlocked i9000 and using xp, I have windows 7 also if that is better. Thank you Update... It did work when restarting the phone and then plugged it in, got com 19 and all look OK right now... Edited July 7, 2010 by Stockholm

Mine always communicates through COM6 for regular access and COM7 for flashing, I'd seen that this was the case for most people. Odin is unable to boot the phone if is in the wrong port, mine at times connects through COM6 and i get the same problem you did, it just sits there with no change; when that happens I reboot and boot back up in downloader mode and usually then it works. I've learned never to flash when it's in COM6 now... I'm glad it worked out in the end.
Guest Stockholm Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 The flashing worked fine and the phone works. The language did not change to Swedish or English when inserting the simcard, I had to change it manually. The pone works but I can't connect to the network, did anyone use the JG1 with working network? It did work before, I had version F3 I think.

So once you restarted the phone with your sim card the phone didn't automatically change the language? are you sure you put your sim-card back in correctly? I'd check that first, if you got no language change and you're getting no networks that all points to the sim card...
Guest Stockholm Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Yes. I had the card right and can call to and from the phone. The wifi works fine but no data over 3g or over. I did try the same simcard on my i8000 and it worked fine on it. Update: It did work after adding the APN settings manually. The settings was not automatically recognized from the simcard (3 Sweden). All good, thank you for the tutorial! Edited July 8, 2010 by Stockholm
Guest DistortedLoop Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Where was this yesterday morning as I muddled through the process? It would have answered a question or two I spent too much time googling the answer for. LOL My biggest issue was finding the right software with drivers that actually worked, and finding a Windows machine I could monkey with. The process would not work for me in VMWare WinXP on my Mac. I had the same problems (VMWare won't work) de-rooting/returning my EVO 4G to stock. Thanks for posting.
