Well, I guess it was meant that way as you said, but they should have made that optional. A google search of "i8000" "lockscreen" "backlight" shows that many people would rather have it lit. If not for purely recreational (a quick glimpse of the lockscreen picture) reasons, at least some people have complained about difficulty searching for the slider under the sun.

I would really like to know if there is any change in the new ROM.

if you want not to search de slider in the sun just long press the power button

I've been using JE2 for a couple of months and decided to change for this release JF5. No major changes visually, but for me is faster than the JE2 specially widgetplus when change from screens. The same free RAM, which limits a lot when you try multitasking. Hoping that samsung make new firmwares with more speed, less lag and specially more free ram if not, the task manager is useless.I think there are enough hardware to workaround and make better firmwares for O2.

MY I8000 cannot read sim card after flashing JF5, can only make emergency call only.

Check sim card which is working on my I9000, put in other people working sim card also cannot.

Tried to reflash to other version JE3 & JE1 the problem remain.

Got to flashed back to J9 version then get samsung service center one of these day.

:(

Hi everyone! I've an I8000L and for a long time I've been very confused about flashing or not the phone part.

A few people said they did it in I8000L but in many forums I saw they don't recommend it because that would mess the phone - different network bands --> different hardware.

Now I wanna try JF5 but I still don't know if it is safe for me to flash the eboot part :) I'm from Costa Rica and the operator "ICE" works on 850 MHz 3G network.

Also I'd like to know which CSC could I use because I always use FOP but it becomes with operators in Spain.

Please help!!!

Hi!

Sorry to reply in spanish but this guy is from Costa Rica like me, so I guess the it is better spanish for him too.

Thanks!

Hola!

http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...g-rom-on-i8000/

Ah y has un respaldo de todo incluyendo lo que tienes en la memoria interna de 8 GB ya que al cambiar la rom se pierdo TODO lo que esta ahi-

Cualquier cosa contactame.
