Given that this thread is supposed to be about the first official release of eclair for the liquid, could we have just a simple review of the new acer rom? Just to see if the minor glitches of previously leaked roms are fixed, and to evaluate it without all this mess of froyo, baked stuff and overclocking experiments. Has someone just tried it and checked how it performs?

i'm about to open a new thread about this Official rom and i will post my impression and all other stuff in there,and maybe with a bit of help from moderators we will manage to keep it clean :)

SMS loading bug fixed, dialer and contacts loading faster than before, A-GPS works very well, it was actually able to locate me even while at home, with an error of less than 20m; overclocked kernel works (the one posted by vache (or peter, I can't remember)), Wireless tethering works with some hacks (I'll release a new version on monday night/tuesday morning, compatible with this new bin).

Loading contacts from SIM Card at every boot not fixed. I actually feel that the battery has improved its duration, but I'm testing it only since this morning.

Rooting works with malez recovery (0.5.4, thank you Malez), didn't test Apps2SD yet.

OMG, I'm sorry to make this thread dirty because I've tried froyo or have joking about the improvements of this new bin, i haven't see any particular improvement, that's why i've joke.

Is anyone else missing apps from the market? I'm guessing that it is the standard build.prop problem as usual with Acer. Does anyone know what we modify that string of numbers to? Can we just do what we did for the first 1.6 ROM or would we need something more 2.1 specific?

Yes i get the same probleme here in france, can't find all apps on market, even after unlocking market from malez recovery

same here, some app missing, also gps icon on notification bar is missing, even the gps seems working...

TS patch for the touch screen, and ramswap....

And kernel with this is less stable than "normal" kernel without optimisation (only with 998 Mhz)

I see the GPS icon properly, but sometimes maps crashes and the camera crashed when i tried to use it :)

To fix the market, apply the market fix for 2.1 (it's under other in malez recovery). Reboot your phone. Kill the market process and clear the market cache (settings ->apps -> manage apps hit menu, select filter, select all. Find market, select market, hit the clear cache button!). Then set your time to 11:59 pm. Wait until 12:01, the start market and see how you go.

If it doesn't work first time, rinse and repeat! (note: please don't put your phone in/under/near water :D )
