Guest Vulpix Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Can someone do me a favor and find Meteor Blitz paid on their marketplace? I can't seem to find it even after applying the marketplace fix.
Guest ourfear Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Right now I'm removing it all through ADB thanks to klutch his simple explanation and reassurance. But i think you mean that you want to add in Launcher Pro into the personal.zip to overwrite Launcher2.apk Might also try that, but I don't know how this will affect updates for LauncherPro. I can live atm moment removing Launcher2 after having installed LauncherPro. Maybe a good request for Paul to replace Launcher2 because of the Phone issue (even if it can be patched). LauncherPro is getting more and more rock solid and you can set the Phone or any shortcut mannually in it. I think i'm gogin to try and wright a Batch file to remove everything in one go through ADB for the moment. or can i remove the launcher2 and add launcher pro apk to /data/app ?
Guest Noonski Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) could you share your removed file/folder list? can I remove htcLockScreen.apk from this rom file too? What Klutch meant by a few pages back was to go into recovery/clockworkmod and: adb shell mount /system adb shell rm /system/app/htcLockScreen.* adb reboot Klutch do you have more tips on which parts can safely be removed? What is HtcWeatherWallpaper.* for? Also interested in knowing how removing PicoTts &TtsService affects system :) Edited July 11, 2010 by Noonski

Guest Noonski Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) Check out Alarm Clock Plus V2 as a good free alarm replacement. I'm not much in the mood of rebaking the Rom right now, getting close to my perfect setup. But removing launcher2 through adb works great. Got a whole Batch file setup for myself :) Off Topic: Damn it's hot round here, I think We (Holland) have a good chance at Grabbing the Cup today. Edited July 11, 2010 by Noonski
Guest klutsh Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 could you share your removed file/folder list? Honestly I've removed replaced that many files in the last 24 hours I didn't make a list. I'm close to getting a initial stripped rom out soon, The changes I've done so far: Stripped out Sense & all Sense widgets. Replaced World Clock with Deskclock. Replaced HTC Music app with AOSP one. Replaced HTC Browser with AOSP one. Patched Launcher2 to work with HTC Dialer. Added Huge APN list from Cyanogenmod 6. Added Menu Button Wake. Enabled English (United Kingdom). I need to odex the new/replacement app's (once I figureout how to do it) and apply the network location fix (need Paul for this I can't figure it out) After that I'm going to work on getting the AOSP Dialler & Contacts working, as it is now Facebook contacts etc won't work.
Guest qubit76 Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Can anyone confirm if the included radio update is safe for the A8183 model? (i.e. the Telstra branded retail 850mhz model) Can you use the image without the radio update if it is not safe? Anyone tested? The radio is all good :)
Guest Noonski Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) Well removing HtcWeatherWallpaper.* removed te option to choose regular HTC wallpapers. No Loss for me though I use Flikie anyway. I'm very Happy now Paul You Rock it think I'm at my perfect set up. A Solid Sense Rom with a lot of HTC Stuff removed. I don't get the Network Location problem as Fancy Widget knows where I am? Isn't the Network location problem related to the HTC Weather & Weather Widget? The BuildProp I posted, as far as I could see had the 2.2 for the Version. I believe Paul added the BuildProp for 2.1 to fix issues of missing apps in MCR3.1 Kitchen. So that might explain Shake Them All missing. Or the Developer is sleeping and forgot to update the compatibility for his market addition :) Edited July 11, 2010 by Noonski

HtcWeatherWallpaper is the full screen weather animation's I think Network location is in the core files, maps, AOSP weather, browser all use it.

Doing better than me...I keep getting fc when trying to replace the htc browser.
Guest Noonski Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I have found all the answers except how to activate "Move to SD Card" . Please tell me about it. VIA: @udK_Dev RT @xdadevelopers Thread: [TIP] Force all apps to SD on FROYO http://bit.ly/bt8Yk9
Guest MarcKN Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I flashed this via recovery and the location problem was solved for me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=722489
Guest klutsh Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Doing better than me...I keep getting fc when trying to replace the htc browser. Be sure to remove browser.apk & browser.odex before pushing the AOSP one.
Guest Noonski Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 (edited) Also got rid of adb shell rm /system/app/PicoTts.* adb shell rm /system/app/TtsService.* adb shell rm /system/app/HtcMusic.* adb shell rm /system/app/HtcRingToneTrimmer.* Don't use anything that uses Text To Speach. So far So good. I know it get's started sometimes by system so I might still run into Errors. @Klutsh What are the advantages of OASP browser? Because I do like the Bookmarks View of HTC Browser. And also thanks for the removing HtcMusic tip, will do that next. "Added Huge APN list from Cyanogenmod 6." Is this the apn xml you posted earlier? And what's the "Added Menu Button Wake."? Yes i'm stripping you of all your little dirty secrets :) Edited July 11, 2010 by Noonski
Guest Vulpix Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 No one willing to just go to the Market and check if Meteor Blitz paid is there? :)

Yep, I loaded this rom onto my Telstra A8183 handset for a few hours and testing the phone, it appeared to all function okay. Since removed the rom and gone back to the G1-based Froyo but, as I prefer the non-Sense UI :) Phone still makes nice calls :D
Guest Noonski Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 No one willing to just go to the Market and check if Meteor Blitz paid is there? :) It's there with me. 2X paid and 2X Free for Droid and Nexus One.
Guest dancedreamfly Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 No one willing to just go to the Market and check if Meteor Blitz paid is there? :) I can see Meteor Blitz for Droid and Nexus One, free and paid. Using modified build.prop and MarketAccess.
