Guest lambrospower Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Trackball wake does require a kernel edit. Have a look at ALL FRF91 Sense rom's none have it, only AOSP FRF91 has it as they use a generic kernel without HTC specific libs, that is built from source. That kernel will not work on the leaked HTC Roms. That option will arrive, either once it can be done without kernel mods or after HTC release the HTC Kernel source. well they did work for me before with mcr3.1 but now with this they don't....i flashed it 5 times....i am in cyprus btw and i removed sim toolkit from kitchen if it plays a reason

Guest klutsh Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 hi paul, i found this in defrost post: # Patched framework-res with desire brightness/powerusage values which are MUCH better is it an option to implement this in your rom? regards, thomas He's taken the values from the 2.0x Rom leaks and used them in the DeFrost Rom's.
Guest Paul Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Paul, This is not an important issue, but I just want to flag that I baked your latest R5 ROM without Car Panel (box un-ticked), and yet the Car Panel app is being installed with the new rom. (I re-baked the ROM a second time without CarPanel and again CarPanel was installed). Strange, i've checked the kitchen, and it definitely looks like it's only included if you check that option! Strange... :/ P
Guest Paul Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 afaik, trackball wake cannot be added to the froyo sense roms until the kernel source is available Incorrect, I can add it, however it's a framework change and all framework changes break the odex. It's coming, it just has complexities I need to fix first. P

Guest mrat Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 APNs do work fine. The location of the boot animation has moved in 2.2, it's now /system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip You can link /system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip to /data/local/bootanimation.zip ... in recovery mode i guess as it's read only. You should then be able to update the zip file without too much faffing by just replacing the writeable /data/local/bootanimation.zip.
Guest EroThraX Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Finally got around to installing this yesterday, working great so far. Thanks.
Guest tk1978 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 He's taken the values from the 2.0x Rom leaks and used them in the DeFrost Rom's. hey, he meens paul or the developer from defrost? and does this mean it is already in pauls rom? you are confusing me
Guest klutsh Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) No kernel change required. P ok, I stand corrected, must keep up on these hacks, I much prefer just pressing menu to wake. hey, he meens paul or the developer from defrost? and does this mean it is already in pauls rom? you are confusing me  I mean richardtrip has taken them from the HTC leaks. After messing around with the current kitchen build's I've fixed all but three bug's I have encountered. Weather being cleared on SD Mount & unMount. SD as Disc Drive does not always work. Froyo's Setting's back up does not work. Edited July 18, 2010 by klutsh

Guest 1immortal Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 does ext2 partition support the a2sd in this rom?
Guest Zooklubba Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 I now have R5 refresh. I cant sync or mount sd-card or do anything. It's only connected through debuggable-mode when I connect my phone to a computer :/.

Guest mrat Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 how can i link the directory ???? It needs to be done while the system folder is writeable.. I think it's something Paul would have to build in, but other members may be able to say how to do it. I can only see what could be done... don't know how to actually do it, sorry!
Guest lambrospower Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 ok nevermind i just pushed it over adb
Guest mrat Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) ok nevermind i just pushed it over adb okay... after a bit of fiddling... boot to recovery... run fake-flash. mount the system partition. run adb mv /system/customize/resource/bootanimation.zip (or delete it) ln -s /system/customise/resource/bootanimation.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip copy whatever animation you want to /data/local/bootanimation.zip ... you should be able to do this at will on the phone. ... i was missing the mount system partition before. ***EDIT*** ...Then again, don't think you can access data/local.. so may be able to link to somewhere else you can edit. Probably best if someone who know what they were doing gave us a steer on this! ***EDIT*** ...Then again, you can access it if you use a browser/term with superuser permissions... duh me! Guest Paul Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Weather being cleared on SD Mount & unMount. What the?!? Froyo's Setting's back up does not work. Did it work in r4? If so, I can probably fix it. P
Guest Zooklubba Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 I have to adb push all the files to my phone :/. Cant mount it to the computer, weird s***.

Guest dkodr Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Does anyone know what causes tabs (in some apps) to look so crooked? The bottom line is way too thick. It happend only on some >=2.1 ROMs.

Guest Kleptomaniac12 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Hi I'm new here but I used your 2.1 ROM for the desire and loved it so I signed up to use the kitchen and got 2.2, I'm just wondering why Chrome to phone isn't in this ROM? Sorry if its already been addressed.
