Guest Dr12 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Quick questions about charging my phone. It seems that I can only find USB car chargers with output of DV 5.0 Volts and 1 Amps. The Omnia charger outputs DV 5.0 Volts and 0.7 Amps. The 5V-1A charges do work with the USB cable, but I think it short circuits the batter. I say this because when my battery is at 30% and I use the charger, after about 5 minutes, my phone shows that the batter is at 100%. After unplugging and using, the percent never drops. After using the phone for a bit and a soft reset of the phone, I see the phone battery at 15%. Does anyone know how to deal with this problem? I never thought that a change in 0.3 amps could mess up the phone charging system. In the end, I can’t use the chargers because they won’t charge the phone.
Guest raff84 Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Typical USB spec is: 5V 0.5A So yours deliver to much of the current if it is really 1A
Guest nutpantz Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 (edited) i may be wrong.. but the 1a is MAX amp delivery (capacity) your phone should draw whatever it needs, up to 1 amp having less means your phone charges slower having more means your phone can charge faster.. IF it WANTS to.. it should not affect how your phone chargers your battery ( other than show it down if its too low) (long gone are the days when the charger WAS THE CHARGER, now its not anything but a power supply) (most of my usb chargers for the house run from .8 to 2 amps) nutz correct me if im wrong.
