I was asked for my DroidX opinion in "Ninja's Nonsense" thread but I did not want to hijack his great thread.

Short and to the point.

I read all the tech stuff...blah..blah.. blah its out their to find

Most of you reading this like me had the Omnia i910 first.

We were most likely excited could not wait to get home and play with it. Why it was a rocket ship, at that time. :D

However things "happened" so they gave me a i920 as a replacement. It was first love all over again.

All this due to "Great Chefs" with creative minds and super human strength, able to jump over tall buildings.....

Well, those feelings of love(material) and excitement are 10 fold for the DX :D ;) .

Like any new phone it may have quirks but its all a learning process.

I had to ask myself, self,How many "Chefs have gone to Android and how many have returned??

We all know many have been assimilated never to return.

Bottom line I guess you could say I LIKE THIS PHONE :(

Thank You

Unfortunately the assimilation in the Moto camp for Droids leaves you locked in as Moto has highly locked down their boot loader, so no root or custom roms...

Thus I still have my 920 (and loving it - thanks Ninja ;-) ) though the Fascinate may be the next device....

Did visit the X camp today... nice phone, definetly love the processor... a bit large in my hand... but size is definitely a personal preference

wait till you see the Droid Scorpion with a 1.5ghz dual core cpu... it seems that since phone designers are not shooting for the worlds smallest cell phone anymore and people saying, "I dont mind the size", we can now see workhorses and phones at least half the size of an ipad and will drive the industry toward larger more powerful phones where we can play Worlf of Warcraft anywhere and not just an auction house app.

Yeah - I know... and I hope that it does happen, if not just to stick it to the MotoMan... as for me, I've been extremely please with the Sammy offerings over the years, so as long as they continue to deliver the good, I'll still be around that camp...

The cellphone technology is just blazing right now... actually makes it tough to want to jump in ... But it is way cool!

Technology or not, it may be a great piece of hardware but, this is why I'm going to stay away from Android for awhile. Maybe just some junk though, you decide.

I "glanced" at the article, sorry. my first impression was tin foil hat time. :D

IMHO.. If you look at any technology theirs always a method of control by the powers to be.

I guess if it gets to the point that I think you suggest then my resolve is to turn it off.

I hope for our sake your wrong...

:D :(

Ps I really like my DX ;)

I too love my i920

Don't really flash all the time cause I use my phone for work quite a bit everyday. What I love most about the i920 is that it works for me with out fail everytime.

Using ninjas 21908 lite rom, MS 3.5.5, to many apps to list.

What i do the most is use it for wifi-tethering, next would be organizational tool, then communication.

Installed are games and I store videos just in case I get stuck in a line or something.

More often, I use its TV-Out feature to connect to the LCD's at different office locations. I have an extra i920 that I let family use to watch movies I come across. Quality is just like playing a DVD.

Also starting to use Skype more often since I figured how to get the front camera working. I use it with the kids mostly. Not real practical for work. My netbook is what I use if I have to have a video conversation or meeting.

Its does everything I want it to very quickly without cliches. Plus the display is beautiful to look at. The blacks are BLACK and the colors are VIBRANT.

IMO its a lot cheaper to own a Windows Mobile phone if you like to customize your device exactly the way you like it. I also think its a lot more complicated to hack Android devices then Windows Mobile which will hopefully keep our wonderful chefs cooking WM goodies.

Wait Time Out......

You are using my rom, but you also have a front facing camera on your Omnia 2? Or did I just read that wrong?

I saw that too.... man Ninja, I knew your roms were good, but... holy cow... of course, if you had a front facing camera it wouldn't be able to take a picture of you anyway, since ninjas don't exist ;-)

I'm pretty un-knowledgeable when it comes to Android, so I don't know what rooted/unrooted means. Have you flashed a custom rom? I think if I could get the HTC Sense overlay on the Droid X I'd jump ship today.

The rooting of the phone lets you delete some crapware and and use wifi as a "hotspot" with out the "hotspot" $20.fee. Kind of similar to the the tethering deal we had.

As far as Rom's NO B) at the moment...Moto has a special deal to prevent this called efuse.... :(

Man if you ever got Sense on this phone they would name a bar after you :(

I abandoned the O2 ship couple of days ago and defected to the Droid X. And let me tell ya, the X is the best phone i have every had! I appreciate the chefs that improved the experience of the O2. I thought I would regret getting a droid phone, but found it was the best tech choice I've made in a while. The X is stupid fast in everything it does apps, internet, and etc. So this is my official so long to you all.

I'm not sure why you would want that, both my parents have HTC androids and they always come to me to get them to work...get to play around with them a lot and the android version of sense compared to the windows version is garbage.

I called Verizon on another matter and they informed me that my upgrade period was Dec. (I guess I got the year plan). Then I asked about upgrading to the Droid X. They said they could work it out. I thought about it for a minute and told them I would wait. It was hard. Good decision?

Man I've been tempted a few times, even had a $150.00 tax free offer, but I held out.

I really like the look of the Droid X, but I'm hopeful that Verizon will roll out LTE with 4G next year, and I'd like to jump on the bandwagon. Droid X won't be able to do 4G, so thats basically the only thing holding me back. I think I can wait till new years before I jump ship. I HIGHLY DOUBT I'll switch to winpo 7
