Guest GeileBeer Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Hello, I mostly use I8000 as a personal navigator - I connect TV out to car monitor and run GPS application (iGO). There are two issues: GPS performance (I guess it could be solved only by external GPS sensor, but I'm not going to discuss that) and TV out screen orientation. GPS application is capable to run in landscape mode (it uses gx.dll, some sort of DirectX), but phone's TV out is always in portrait mode. I found the solution, mortscript file: Rotate(270) iGO.exe Rotate(0)[/codebox] It does not affect phone orientation (probably because it runs in DirectX mode), but puts TV out in landscape mode. Here is the problem: it works under 6.1 only. Under 6.5.3 TV out is initially in landscape mode (when it displays splash screen and progress bar), but after 1-2 second switches back to portrait. Phone screen orientation is always landscape as in 6.1. I like everything about 6.5.3: finger friendly interface, new OEM software, but TV out issue does not allow me to upgrade. It tried several ROMs and it definitely works under any 6.1, but does not under any 6.5.3. I tried many application to rotate screen in 6.5.3, but nothing helps, the same result. The only application which works is [topic=294337]orientation detection [/topic](it puts TV out in landscape, when phone orientation is landscape), but it somehow affects the GPS application: it draws everything in landscape, but behaves (checks for button clicks) as it is in portrait mode. Another issue is that I have to keep phone itself rotated in order to get TV out rotated. Here is the question: is it possible to control TV out orientation (not phone screen orientation) under 6.5.3? I don't mind if it's going to be a permanent landscape mode. Thanks
