Ouch......, why were you playing with the internal sd card?

Did you check the repartition options when you used Odin?

Hey. Well I thought the internal was okay to reformat as it is just a memory card after all...

Indeed that was one of the first things I did... tick the partition box within Odin ... but the sd card (internal still doesn't show within My Computer)

Any other ideas mate?

Yeah.. but I think the internal sd card is part of a bigger nand and part of the nand is also used for storing apps and partitioning is different to just formatting, you might have wiped out the partition table that holds the info for the app storage too..... obviously the partition program screwed something up pretty bad.

Now you can't even access it from paragon.. so you can't do anything from there..

No.. all out of clues....could be very tricky now because you can do anything from the pc.. and the phone won't boot and obviously using the repartition option isnt rebuilding it..

Im out of ideas....

i wouldnt panic, someone will know what to do

Just spoken to someone @ a Samsung service centre... he said it "sounds like a software fault and I will reflash the phone for you"..

Thing is I have done this literally 50 times with Odin... still no luck...

obviously I did not tell him this..

but he then said "if it is a hardware fault... we will send it to Samsung who will either fix it or send you a new one"..

hmmm ... but I am going on holiday for 2 weeks this tuesday... I need my phone :(

Just re-read the thread and see that you can actually boot the phone up...

Can you connect with adb?

adb shell

su

ls -l

mount

hey. Since I flashed an RUU rom as I am taking it to a samsung service centre I don't have SU... also just now when I tried to put the busybox / su "update.zip" file onto my external and flash it I get the error "E:Can't open sdcard/update.zip

No such file or directory.

Instllation aborted"

#I guess the update files must be on the SD card and obviously my pc doesn't recognise it..

thanks for your help and reply my friend

I got a call from the Samsung repair centre and they reflashed the firmware (which I did many times through odin  ) and they say it works now.

I shall go and collect it tomorrow.

Thank you so much to all the people that read and posted in this thread in orderr to help me.

I will try and return the favour one day :(

Actually I think the problem is you were just using the wrong PIT file when you reflashed it. (need to use the 512 one)

Hey. Really? I thought there was only 1 "original" pit file... but with I9000XWJG5 there are 2 pit files and I used the europe version...

can you explain to me in more detail about the 'correct pit file' issue

thanks mate

They set up different size partitions. the 512 version sets up a bigger dbdata partition which is needed by many of the roms.

The 512 version if posted in many threads. Anyway glad they sorted it out for you, nice that they did that.

Next time you can do it yourself easily enough :(.

The error you were getting is exactly the same when people flash with the wrong PIT file so you might want to try it anyway.

Have attached the 512 PIT file, try flashing again, and select repartition with this PIT file.

Samsung didn't check their fix had worked?

Ahh ok I am trying it now...

The guy said he did not have the right drivers on his pc to check if internal memory showed up on pc... they were still using XP and it did not work as usb drivers were not present..

If they were using vista / win7 the drivers would have downloaded automatically... dumb asses lol.... oh well.. imma try what you said and see if I get my internal memory showing again.

thanks

Hey I tried it with 512 pit file..

That error has gone away... but the computer still does not recognise my internal sd

:(

(I just flashed I9000XWJM1 and samset rom on top of it)

Weird thing is Samsung Kies software recognises both internal and external card and I can view / create / drag and drop files without problem..

what is wrong with my phone :(

there's no HD startsector edit tool for android?

You couldn't have had it partitioned with ntfs, cos kies will notice these drives but the linux kernel wont?

Hi, since KIES is recognizing the Internal card, you could try the following:

- Use KIES to re-install the drivers, going to the top-left corner and choosing this option.

- Unplug the USB cable from your phone and choose another port on your computer.

- Activate USB Debugging in Android Settings -> Applications -> Development

- Reconnect USB cable

- Mount the drivers

Report here :( I'm curious to know how this manages for you

he said internal sd card (nand) not the external sd card.

You cant take the internal sd card out, its soldered in there.
