Guest woti17 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Exactly, and to add any further features before full release. P great work paul i did not wipe from r6 to r7 - a few minor issues from the logcat gmail and handsent - data has to be cleared in settings / application / manage before working again browser - ditto data clear necessary, bookmarks are deleted this way - otherwise "cannot create webViewCache" in logfile 100s of lines in logcat - W/Addapter( 277): info.icon:2130837550 mobile network apn settings dissapeared, magically settings change to gsm only - working great adfree droidwall and proxymator (with iptables 1.4.7 extra cooked in) bash, rsync, tcpdump, nmap (extra cooked in in zip) thank you very much w
Guest squrl Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 When you untick Facebook, it also removes HtcFacebook.apk, so you lose the ability to see Facebook updates in FriendStream. This should be fixed, or at least mentioned in the text explaining the Facebook option.
Guest FatherD Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 And which one exactly are you using? Would it be this one: framework-res_HTC_2.2_color-signed.zip No ... mine is framework-res_MDC_r4_WIP-signed.zip Which doesn't have the coloured icons ... looks nicer to me :)
Guest Skidder Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 And which one exactly are you using? Would it be this one: framework-res_HTC_2.2_color-signed.zip Great! Flashed and running now too. Flashed straight over r6, which was flashed over r5, and aside from the Gmail FC and double widgets mentioned before all is good and working. Also running circle battery mod (framework-res_MDC_r5_WIP-signed) and seems to be fine. Trackpad wake with power works for me, did not try the others tho' Thanks Paul!!
Guest nawchi Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Great job Paul !!! You're THE MAN !!!!! just flashed r7 from r6 without wipe. Everything is working fine. Very very fast your r7: Linpack 40.902 MFLOPS Quadrant: full benchmark 1300 !!!!!! :) Golden ball + Oscar for Paul
Guest dipje Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 if you guys install the battery-circle-mod for r5, doesn't that mean that a bit of (htc) framework get's overwritten with a version that migh be (or not be) older?
Guest Attitudes Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Only thing not working so far is the gmail app that force close(as ppl have mention before), and the apn's that is gone(restored true apn backup) Other than that its working rly good(did not wipe from R6) Thanx paul!
Guest squrl Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 I was wondering if it was possible to include the possibility to wake the phone with a first push on the trackpad, and unlock it with a second push. I've already met some roms with this functionnality. It would be great to be able to unlock the phone with no time *o* *click click* *click click*~~ Yeah, seems WAKE_DROPPED does not work the same way as in 2.1 ROMs. 2.1: press once - wake screen, press again - unlock phone 2.2: press once - wake screen, press again - nothing, press again - nothing, what the hell?, press again - nothing... FFFUUUUUUUU :) Any idea Paul?
Guest jns2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Baked in the standard Android keyboard but now the HTC keyboard seems to be missing. Never mind, I baked another ROM and this time HTC's Touch Input was included (I must have excluded it accidentally in the previous mix). I noticed that the HTC calendar widget isn't there anymore though. Is this an MCR issue or has HTC removed the cal widget in general?
Guest DiscoHero Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 does anyone know where I can get the stock android email app. I recently tried a vanilla ROM and whilst too many features were missing compared to these, I did love the email app +1 I wonder if it can be pulled from vanilla ROM and installed separately.

I believe this has been answered before, but your gmail is force-closing because you didn't wipe coming from r5 / r6. People on XDA with different upgrades to the 2.09 base are reporting the same thing. Go to settings -> applications -> manage applications, find gmail and 'clear settings' or 'clear data' or something. This resets gmail to it's defaults and from what I heard fixes the force-close. My gmail is working fine, did a full wipe before installing r7. Edited August 5, 2010 by dipje

Happens when you flash w/o wipe. Go into manage applications and clear data for Gmail app ... you will have to refetch email but that should fix the issue.
Guest vvaleta28 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) with wipe seems all fine, but linpack gives me 24 mflops average why so low, while ppl post here 40 mflops? any ideas? P.D : seems i get same permissions error on rom manager, its not rebooting when required, and restoring with mybackup pro not one of my apps appears in market to update them Edited August 5, 2010 by vvaleta28
Guest WhiT3Kr0w Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) Thanks a lot Paul :) Had r3.1, wiped all, flashed r7 and working with no problems so far. Currently restoring all apps and data using Titanium backup. I can confirm that the gallery seems smoother scrolling pics and videos and my wifi signal is on max, usually wasn't this high. Once again, many thanks. Will test a bit more after restoring all apps. It will take a bit, since it says it's restoring 274 items. Edited August 5, 2010 by WhiT3Kr0w
Guest Nels82 Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) Hi Paul, Is it possible that there might be a problem with free memory space with r7? I cannot install the apps I already had with r6. For info, I did a wipe and I'm not using a2sd or a2sd+. Nels Edited August 5, 2010 by Nels82

Guest nirrub Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Is this ROM deodexed? Does anyone know? Thanks!
Guest acrickie Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Will download and try this out over the next couple of days. Coming from R5 so expecting everything to be pretty similar. Have noticed one thing with R5 whcih may be me doing something wrong? I installed ASE with scripts then added (I think) Python and Perl and associated sample scripts. When I try to run any of the sample scripts there is a path error saying /data/data/com.google.ase/perl or python does not exist! When I check it is quite correct but I'm not sure why or what I need to do, my guess it is something to do with the fact that ASE is installed in the ROM and perl/python are probably on the SDCARD so the paths being generated are incorrect?? Is this me or a bug or have I missed something obvious?? Is anyone else seeing it and is it the same with the R7 ROM? Thanks

Guest sinkingfish Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 If you omit sense/rosie and go with the vanilla launcher, when you long press 'home' to show the recently opened apps, launcher is in the the list. Is this a bug?
Guest Asselberghs Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Are we going to be able to enable Nexus One boot screen and Nexus One boot sound (I seem to recall there were such a thing at some point) at some point in this build of the Kitchen when it is no longer WIP? I hope to be able to turn the MCR into what looks to be Nexus One as nearly as possible. I realize that such a thing is way down on priority list up against adding apps and getting a smooth running rom, but is it taken into consideration?
