Guest ElDiablo77 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hi Paul, not the most important thing u will read but when I was using the Nexus ROM ports I really liked the way the keyboard zoomed in & out when selected but this seems 2 have been lost with the HTC versions of Froyo. I have a feeling it would b 2 hard 2 get this working on the HTC ROM but I did feel it gave the phone a bit more style. If u know how 2 get this working again great, but if not I will not cry about it either. Keep up the good work Paul its very much appreciated by all I'm sure.
Guest kuchiwaza Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hi, Can you please ad OpenVPN to the kitchen again? I just subscribed as I had seen it in the previous kitchens now found it's not there ... Cheers Markus
Guest bhu73 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Next kitchen version puts that in a cookie so when you come back to the (same ROM) kitchen, your options are pre-selected. P Nice...will it work across the load-balancing? I actually meant more as an aid for more consistent bug-reporting. So that when someone has problem X... you would at least know for sure what options they had actually baked in as opposed to what they "thought" they had baked :-)
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 If you want to odex /system/app, download this file, extract it to a directory, then from a command prompt above that directory do: adb push odex /data/odex adb shell /data/odex/odex.sh ... wait for reboot to recovery, then enter fake-flash recovery ... adb shell mount /system adb shell mount /sdcard adb shell cp /sdcard/odex/* /system/app reboot[/code] I'd advise backing up first, but interested to hear your results. Working fine here. P

I'll give it an option to display your build config too then. :) P
Guest bbawden Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 The ROMS are usually in the region of 800MB. This one is 143MB. Is that right?
Guest twe Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 it could be, as im still using the card which one came with my desire (its a class 2 if im right). later ill buy a 32gb class 6 or 10 sd. The card that came with my Desire doesn't even work, got to get it replaced by HTC. There is a thread on xda-devs I think or another forum I was visiting with a load of people complaining how their cards don't work properly.

Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Added Gmail 2.2.1 to the kitchen as a default option. P
Guest LouiS22 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Added Gmail 2.2.1 to the kitchen as a default option. P Strange, I've just checked, and 2.2.1 was in the previous version (R6). Wonder why they just don't include in the final release.
Guest bbawden Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 ROMs are NOT 800MB!!! P You're right - don't know where I got that strange idea from! Sorry.
Guest DariWari Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hi Paul, did you plan to add a uvoc kernel in this release? This would be marvellous :)
Guest V I R U S Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 @Paul, what will happen if i odex apps on my phone? Will it run faster or something else? Thanks!
Guest bbawden Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Added Gmail 2.2.1 to the kitchen as a default option. P If I grabbed the ROM before you updated Gmail, will it update from the Market?
Guest AndrewMe Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 It's fine on mine, I use trackpad and power wake. Trackpad wake (w/o Power) is working fine for me.
Guest pfsykes Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hi Paul, did you plan to add a uvoc kernel in this release? This would be marvellous :) +1 Yes Very much needed as my battery lasts just about a day. Has any one tried a bluetooth keyboard with this phone yet? ( I know its randum but i user it for SSH and Citrix alot.) Peter
Guest z7x8c9 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Is there any advantage in including Facebook in the bake vs installing it from the market?
Guest Whiler92 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yes, if you removed the HTC lock screen, you will not be able to switch off the HTC alarm. Finally, I hate too much the Sense unlock and build one without Sense lock... I'll not use the default alarm till a Paul's update?
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hi Paul, did you plan to add a uvoc kernel in this release? This would be marvellous :) No, I've not found them to be very effective. P
Guest Kevin La. Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I selected Titanium Backup and it wasn't installed. Tried 2 times.
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 If I grabbed the ROM before you updated Gmail, will it update from the Market? No. P
Guest DariWari Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Is there any advantage in including Facebook in the bake vs installing it from the market? Backed= installed to /system partition Market= installed to /data/app this is it :)
Guest Whiler92 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 I selected Titanium Backup and it wasn't installed. Tried 2 times. I selected it, and it was :)
Guest gianton Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 No. P Is there another way of upgrading to the new Gmail app other than baking a new ROM and flash again? :)
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Download from the link earlier in this thread, boot to recovery, mount /system and push to /system/app. P
