Guest bbawden Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Just flashed, everything looks good. It forgot the APN settings, but luckily I had backed up with Titanium, so could just restore that setting. Thanks Paul, nice work as usual.
Guest Mushhushshu Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 FYI, I downloaded a rom from the kitchen 20mn ago, Disable vibrate on shutdown is uncheck... and it doesn't vibrate anymore... it was vibrating with a previous release... Just baked 5min ago upgrading from previous r7 release - can confirm this - option to disable not checked, device not vibrating on shutdown. non-issue for me really but just fyi.
Guest Kevin La. Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) After each reboot I got a FC about com.htc.hgp. I removed Sense and a lot of app from the kitchen. May be there is a bug at this time without Sense ? Edited August 6, 2010 by Kevin La.
Guest Pieronip Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Problem with APNs missing was resolved by flashing the latest version. Still unable to reboot into Clockwork Recovery from the app. CR cannot reboot the phone but if rebooted manually, the ROM requested in CR is installed. So it's just a problem with the reboot request. Probably related issue is as follows. If I run a script with the following single line reboot the script asks for and is given SU permission. It then returns not permitted! /edit Further info - 'reboot' from ADB shell works perfectly! Edited August 6, 2010 by Pieronip

Guest Whiler92 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 If I run a script with the following single line reboot the script asks for and is given SU permission. It then returns not permitted! Same issue... I can't reboot it from terminal command line... it also got with previous release... (su is prompt... I see the toaster.. but always not permited...
Guest Jagdish Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) If i uncheck the facebook will i still have the older version? the newest one aint to my likings and stays in the background(rumored to be battery draining as well) Edited August 6, 2010 by Jagdish
Guest Pieronip Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Same issue... I can't reboot it from terminal command line... it also got with previous release... (su is prompt... I see the toaster.. but always not permited... I edited my post above to state that issuing 'reboot' from an ADB shell works fine. I also find that 'reboot now' and 'reboot recovery' work from ADB but NOT from a script or command line on the phone. Although there are ways round this, it is a nuisance while we are trying to load a few new ROM versions per day! :) Edited August 6, 2010 by Pieronip
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Same issue... I can't reboot it from terminal command line... it also got with previous release... (su is prompt... I see the toaster.. but always not permited... Yeah, fix to follow! P
Guest vvaleta28 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Paul, could the localization be wrong with sumthin? its giving me right location but bad weather prediction says its raining and 26º and its like 40 with a sun crushing my back atm :) its strange coz with sense widget gives it wrong and with fancy gives it right , but previously with r6 was fine in sense aswell... Guest 325i Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Paul, when will the R7 ROM be fully completed?
Guest woti17 Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yeah, fix to follow! P while you are at it shutdown doesn't work either /system/bin/shutdown -r now shuts down immidiatly without reboot (have to take out chargebattery to get it on again) also i don't know if this is busybox shutdown related? shutdown --help == same effekt as shutdown -r now thanks
Guest manesha Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Same configuration.. it works as expected on mine. When I saw this, I thought maybe it was titanium restoring a broken version of adfree, so I did another install with a wipe cache/data and only restored rom manager using titanium (everything else is as in r7), but can still see ads in rom manager....gggrrrr. I'm gonna have to dig around and find the hosts file to determine if it is doing anything. Edited August 6, 2010 by manesha

(v1.3.0 was the battery drainer) Edited August 6, 2010 by Zarch1972
Guest IronChef Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but the R7 rom seems to be missing the English(Australia) locale. All the previous ROMs had it. I'm guessing this is an HTC ommision?
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Yeah, easily fixed tho either by me for a future version or by installing MoreLocales. P
Guest bigthunderkid Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 hello all, a bit of a noob question.... I can't seem to find the answer with a forum/thread search (but maybe i'm doing it wrong :) ) If you bake a ROM without Sense UI will you still be able to use HTC Sync on the device? Just want to know before I buy my chefs hat for the kitchen :D
Guest OneCheekyDevil Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Uploading now...APN error fix (you probably haven't noticed this) :DP I did notice :D Glad its fixed :) But a quick question The phone dialer included with R7. Is it the stock android one or the HTC Sense dialer? In R6, i somehow had two dialers, and now i have one, and its not the one i want. I have split my contacts into different categories (Family, Friends, Co-Workers, etc), and was able to filter the views to be able to disable viewing certain groups (I have almost 200 contacts in my co-worker group that i would like hidden from the main list to keep it short). Is there a way to add the other dialer into the kitchen so we can select from either one?
Guest CF Chong Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Mod...kindly delete post..thanks... Edited August 6, 2010 by CF Chong
Guest Paul Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 HTC's. The stock contacts up is coming up soon (well, probably Monday now realistically). P
Guest pseudoreal Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Rameses, just for you, i'll put the 'no vibrate on power off' option in the kitchen this morning. :) I should be able to fix the HTC widgets issue, i'll check it out. P Hi Paul, I still have the very first version installed and everything runs fine. I can download all HTC widgets and place them on the home screen.
Guest OneCheekyDevil Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 HTC's. The stock contacts up is coming up soon (well, probably Monday now realistically). P Yay!!! Thanx for the quick response. Keep up the good work. YOU DA MAN!!!
Guest Rivendel Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 Hello, for me the Phone-Reboot's are getting worse. Installing something on SD results in a reboot. Installing TTS-Speach from Market -> Reboot Moving app to SD via Froyo -> Reboot Installing Robots from Market -> Reboot Anyone else with that kind of problems ? Regard Robert
Guest rdoxenham Posted August 6, 2010 Report Posted August 6, 2010 HTC's. The stock contacts up is coming up soon (well, probably Monday now realistically). P Paul, just for clarification, if I was to use my titanium backup of the stock contacts app, would this fail? just wondering why it was omitted in the first place :) cheers

P YES!!! Thank you sooo much for this. This vibrating bugs me since a while now.... Thank you, rameses for bringing this up! :)
